The property is absolutely lovely. Francesco is the best host. He is warm, attentive, friendly and makes you feel at home in his B&B. He serves a delicious breakfast and there is even a small pool for guest use. It's about a thirty-minute drive to a beautiful, crystal-clear beach. We thought it was a good location for exploring Ragusa, Modica and Scicli. We highly recommend a stay at Villa Quartarella.

Fabulous b and b with the best of hosts. The rooms are beautiful, well furnished, spotless and very comfortable. It’s a lovely setting in the countryside with a pool, great views but is also close to towns (Scicli and Modica), the beach and good places to eat. Breakfasts are excellent. We would return in a heartbeat.

Our stay with Francesco was wonderful! Francesco is so incredibly welcoming and kind. He shared practical information on where to visit, where to eat and where to park. The breakfasts he served were amazing - I’m still thinking about the walnut pastries! The house and grounds are lovely and the pool was perfectly refreshing. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and comfortable. The welcoming committee of Rubble and Piccola was icing on the cake. We can’t wait to visit again! Thank you very much, Francesco!

When he found out I didn’t have a car, he immediately canceled the reservation without any issues, helped to find me a hotel in town, and hand delivered my deposit. We had a wonderful time hosted by Francesco at Villa Quartarella. The Villa and location are both beautiful. Mandarin, lemon and pomegranate trees grow in the lovely old courtyard, there is a clear view across the countryside out to the coast. Francesco is a magnificent, caring and knowledgeable host. Our seven year old son was delighted to be able to run around and play in the wild flower meadow, and meet the chickens. He also really enjoyed his time with the very hospitable nine year old Giovanni. The breakfasts - mostly outside on the terrace - are a thing of wonder. Beautiful towns and coasts nearby within easy reach, the villa a peaceful oasis to come back to. We could drive just a few minutes down the road for dinner - or bring food back from various local restaurants to eat in the lovely kitchen/dining room. The bedroom was very comfortable. We would love to come back.

First of all, Francesco and his wife are real gems of being a host. They make you feel comfortable immediately. After our stay at a small B&B room in Noto, we were pleased to find spacious quarters in the countryside. Francesco is very good at giving advice on places to visit locally. His advice helped shape this part of our trip. When we cancelled our trip to Agrigento (due to weather), he advised us to stop at Villa Romana del Casale on the way to our next location and that was a memorable experience. He is also a history buff, and as an American, I became very intrigued by the books in his library and we discussed the WWII mission of American troops in Sicily (which my uncle took part in). Last but not least was the outstanding breakfast provided in the communal room, both fresh and delicious. A highlight of our 2 and a half weeks in Sicily.

Our host, Francesco, was very warm and friendly. He greeted us with a glass of homemade lemon drink and then showed us around the common kitchen and living area. We stayed in #2 that had a separate bedroom and a loft with a living area. The breakfast by Francesco was huge and always fresh. He was very helpful and even gave our car a little wash after being made dirty by the Sirocco winds. The only improvement would be a way to heat hot water in the room for tea/instant coffee in the room. Francesco & wife & son are the best!

Wonderful place to stay. Francesco is very nice. I was a little scared by the environment before arriving at this oasis of an old house lost in the trees, but the simple and nice decoration put me at ease. There's a small pool to cool off in when it's too hot, and the fresh eggs in the morning, along with succulent jams and pastries of all kinds, are a generous touch. Francesco, who is a very generous person and explains a lot, is a really nice guy. We highly recommend this place and we will definitely come back.

B&B Quarterella is a truly special place. The rooms at this working farm were spacious and comfortable. Francesco and Francesca were amazing hosts. In addition to providing huge and delicious breakfasts with excellent coffee, fresh eggs, and a wide variety of local pastries (and a wonderful pie made by Francesca), Francesco took us to Modica to easily find the parking lot. He gave us a lot of information, including detailed maps of local attractions and customs. The piece de resistance was taking us to a farm to buy fresh olive oil. The farmer was making fresh ricotta, which she “insisted” we sample, along with her fresh bread. We've never had such an experience. If you love dogs, Rebel will be happy to make his way onto your lap.

We found Villa Quartarella an idyllic and peaceful base to explore the Noto Valley and southeast Sicily. The room was spacious and clean with good WiFi. Francesco, our host, not only provided a sumptuous breakfast but was a mine of information on places to visit and park, where to eat, the best times to eat local fruit, farming, and wildlife. It was wonderful to be told to listen out for stone-curlews in the evening, and watch out for hoopoes and golden orioles which were around during our stay. If you like food, culture, or wildlife, this is a great place to stay. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer.

We stayed three nights at Villa Quartarella with Francesco. He was a perfect host, assisting with suggestions and providing a wonderful fresh breakfast. There is a kitchen space if you want to bring home food and wine for dinner. He can also help with delivered pizzas. Rooms are spacious but being converted farm buildings aren't so warm if the weather is cool, will be ideal in summer heat. Highly recommended.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this stay! My husband and I toured Southern Italy for 16 days with 7 of the days in Sicily. Our time in Italy was fabulous but I must say, my husband and I keep talking about our few days at this property. It was BEAUTIFUL. Francesco treats you as family. He puts together a lovely breakfast each day. Francesco's input on things to do in the area, where to dine, and what to eat were always perfect for us. We would like to go back to Sicily just to stay here. I would love to revisit in warmer weather for a longer period of time to take advantage of the beauty of the outdoors, his pool, the seashore and of course to have Francesco be our host. We can’t say enough wonderful things about this property! My husband and I have been traveling around Sicily with our four kids. This was our most enjoyable stay! Francesco and Francesca made us feel right at home. Francesco showed us around the property and told us stories of the antiques he has displayed. He gave us tips on visiting the best places in nearby towns and showed us maps with the best places to park. Francesca was out harvesting capers one evening and she took the time to explain how to prepare them by soaking them in salt. The rooms were well appointed with all necessary amenities. The breakfast was outstanding…fresh eggs collected from the chickens out back, freshly made jams and cakes and pastries, and savory panini were all laid out on our table when we came in. Francesco was an attentive host and the entire breakfast experience was amazing! We hope to return and stay for longer. This place is the best! It is perfectly located near Ragusa, Modica, Noto, and Siracusa and will be a highlight of your trip to Sicily!

What a wonderful place and Francesco, the owner and host, is the perfect host. He is helpful, kind, considerate and caring. It was a pleasure to stay at Villa Quartarella! Before we arrived at Villa Quartarella, Francesco called us and gave us the last instructions. Villa Quartarella is located a bit hidden in a quiet area near Modica. From the apartment complex, one has a wonderful view over the sea. The apartments are beautiful and surrounded by a nice garden. After our arrival, Francesco took us on a tour through the garden and the complex and told us interesting stories about Sicily. As we arrived quite late after a long tour, he ordered pizza for us and we stayed at the complex the whole night. The next day we went to the kitchen, also located in the complex and open for us all the time. The breakfast prepared by Francesco was great. Many local specialties, coffee, and fresh juices made from fruits from his garden. It was perfect. We would like to thank Francesco for his hospitality. We will definitely come back.

This idyllic farmhouse is one of the loveliest places you could ever imagine staying. The beautiful courtyard is filled with flowers, the rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished, the ambience, created by Francesco and his two dogs, is quite charming. He is an excellent host - giving maps, and brimming with recommendations about restaurants, places to visit and interesting information all about his area - not to mention a wonderful breakfast of local produce. Modica, Scicli and Ragusa are all within easy reach, as is the beach at Sampieri, although there is also a delightful small pool on-site. You do need a car to reach it, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the B&B Quarterella as a romantic, memorable, characterful and relaxing place to stay in the Herat of the South Sicilian countryside. An absolute gem.

Wonderful hosts who assisted us in every way they could. Bedroom 1 needs to have the shower doors fixed as they came apart. The AC was difficult to manage and had little in terms of regulation. A sink plug was not available for room 3 and thus wasted water even when substitutes were used.

The room is actually more like an apartment, which makes it much more spacious and roomy. The kitchen can be used by everyone for their own meals, which is very pleasant and makes it easier to connect with other guests. The very nice host is always helpful, giving guests recommendations for excursions or restaurants or other tips. During breakfast, wishes could be expressed, we would have liked more Italian characteristics. The landlord has made a lot of effort to adapt to the breakfast habits of the respective countries or guests (which of course doesn't always work completely). We really enjoy learning about different customs and traditions on vacation, but unfortunately this gets a bit lost. During the transitional period it can get cold at night, as the sun is kept out for much of the summer. Unfortunately, you only notice it at night when you are cold, it would be nice to have a blanket ready. Highly recommended with and without children. But also relaxing for those seeking peace.

Francesco (the host) is nothing short of fantastic: courteous, kind and very helpful; he is a truly nice person. The rooms are very, very spacious (to give an idea: larger than a studio). Usually, I have difficulty completely unplugging. Well, Francesco's agriturismo has that special something that made me do it. A magical mix of nature, beauty, friendliness, and hospitality. The masseria is on a hill that allows the eyes to wander over fields and dry stone walls that reach all the way to the sea. The location is strategic for visiting Modica, Scicli, Ragusa, and the sea. We also relied heavily on Francesco's advice to choose the most suitable beaches for our family. He is incredibly helpful... he even lent us his binoculars to spot flamingos at the Vendicari reserve. Many guests return year after year, now enchanted by the genuineness and authenticity of the place. The breakfast is delicious, and in the morning I had trouble getting up from the table, both because of the amount of food and the pleasantness of the conversations. The dog Rubble, as if on purpose, is also cheerful and loving but in a discreet manner: he never jumped on us or I ever heard him bark; on the contrary, he patiently endured my 5-year-old son wagging his tail and always escorted us to our room when we arrived. The only negative aspect: on our road trip, where we change about ten hotels, no other place is on par with Francesco's Masseria.

We stayed at this splendid Villa Quartarella for 10 days. The structure is beautiful, charming, and meticulously cared for. The rooms are spacious, beautifully furnished, and very clean, with TV and air conditioning. In the morning, a plentiful and varied breakfast is served with excellent local products in a typical rustic shared kitchen. The kitchen, like everything else, is made available to guests. The welcome was splendid, with orange juice and water with mint, served by the caring and kind Mrs. Giampiera who helps the family in managing the bed & breakfast. The owner Francesco is a wonderful person, welcoming, attentive to details, who goes out of his way to make you know and love his land from the start. The structure has a pool, and you are immersed in the countryside, 15 minutes from an uncontaminated sea and a few kilometers from Scicli, Modica, Ragusa, and other baroque towns. Also waiting for you are 3 sweet dogs: Dick, Piccola, and Rubble, as well as hens, roosters, and chicks. We highly recommend it for both a short stay and longer stays. Villa Quartarella, Francesca, Francesco, Giampiera, Rita, and little Giovanni are a captivating, interesting slice of Sicily, a Sicily to get to know and from which to draw rich teachings. If you plan to visit the southeast of Sicily, look no further, Villa Quartarella is a fantastic place from every point of view: the location, immersed in the countryside, yet convenient to reach all the points of interest, the structure, which offers common areas (one more 'kitchen', breakfast fridge, the other more 'recreation' with fireplace, foosball, books), and rooms with individual bathrooms (ours lofted with two extra beds, perfect for families), simple but clean, large, comfortable and functional, the space around the house, huge and immersed in greenery, with various animals (including the chickens that provide eggs for breakfast), the breakfast, fresh, delicious and abundant, and the most important thing, Francesco (and his family), incredibly kind, friendly and knowledgeable about the places. For example, he invited our children to his house to play with his son (also really very nice who taught a lot of things about the countryside to our 'city' children), and let them drive the tractor, and spent a lot of time with us discreetly and at the same time friendly to pass on his experience on all aspects of the place (food, geography, nature, economy, culture) and on various activities (follow his advice blindly). In short, impossible to find a flaw, the stay represented for us the best way to travel and be welcomed, with passion and sincerity. For the whole family, and especially our children, leaving was very tough, but we will cherish these memories forever!

The Masseria in the countryside of Modica is excellent. We were welcomed by Francesco in an exemplary way. He offered us coffee, pastries, and a cool barley drink! Our room, no. 1, was very spacious. Despite being 3 of us, the space was so livable that it could comfortably accommodate up to 5 adults. Outside, there is a space with a small pool and an area for archery. Inside, there is a area with table football and board games, as well as a kitchen used for breakfast space. It is right here that Francesco delighted us with his stories. Passionate about history, he accompanied us in this super breakfast, with homemade products, homemade sweets, sweet and savory brioches, fresh fruit, mint-flavored water, Modica chocolate, and eggs from his hens. The location is recommended for visiting the beauties of the area, such as Modica, Scicli, Ragusa Ibla, and many other beautiful villages and beaches. Before leaving, Francesco even rinsed our car from the dust, offering a complete service! It's a place we highly recommend! Thanks again, Nicola and family from Padua.

The farmhouse is a super relaxing, authentic and traditional place just as we like it. The owner Francesco was very kind, gave us directions to places to visit, suggested typical and very good restaurants, prepared a very abundant and fresh breakfast. Every morning he goes to the bakery to get sweet products and fresh bread for the guests, he always brought me delicious gluten-free products. The jams are homemade and the fruit is local. The location of the property is excellent, within a short time you can reach the main cities of the area. The room is spacious and cool, despite the high temperatures we always slept without air conditioning and with the windows open. It is an extremely peaceful place that allows you to enjoy the beauties of the territory in all its peace.

Great place to spend holidays in an area very close to the beaches, about 20-30 minutes, immersed in the Sicilian countryside, typical scents, sun, and fresh air. 10 minutes from Modica and close to the most common services. Francesco welcomed us very well telling interesting things about the place and places to visit, excellent person like his whole family. To go back, congratulations.

Halfway between Modica and Scicli, surrounded by wheat fields, you will find Villa Quartarella. I certainly do not discover the hospitality of the Sicilians, and as soon as you arrive, Francesco will make you feel at home, offering you a fresh beer or a glass of water and mint...whatever you ask for, he will advise you on places to visit, restaurants to book, or where to buy sandwiches for the next day's outing. He will transmit the passion he puts into his work every day, and when it's time to leave, you will do so with the feeling of saying goodbye to old friends, promising to come back and see them. The rooms and common areas like the kitchen and the game/relaxation room are beautiful and clean, and the breakfast is fabulous. I will definitely try to come back, thank you Francesco!

We were guests at Villa Quartarella at the end of April and we had a great time. We found everything we wanted and even more. The farmhouse, the rich breakfasts, the landscape, the welcome. All beautiful. Our two children really appreciated the space where they could play freely and the four-legged friends (Dickie, Rubble, and Bella). And Francesco, the manager, with his ways, with his love for his land, makes everything special. Kindness, cordiality, and great availability. The beautiful Villa Quartarella is a splendid structure, renovated with great taste and respect for history and the environment. From my holidays in Sicily, certainly unforgettable for landscapes and culture, my stay at Villa Quartarella is among the most beautiful memories. I couldn't have wished for better and since my arrival it has been a constant amazement for the beauty of the place. Francesco welcomed me with a cool almond milk to introduce me to the local customs; he immediately showed his passion in telling the history of the places and gave me information on how to organize my visits to the Sicilian baroque towns. The structure is a farmhouse where the only sounds are those of nature: rustling of leaves and birdsong. The rooms are a marvel with stone walls, antique furniture, historical objects. The place and the owner have favored pleasant acquaintance and relationship with other guests. Perhaps it's not a suitable place for young people who want to be close to entertainment venues, but for families and people eager for peace, it's the ideal place. I also enjoyed the night skies that, far from the light pollution I am used to (Milan), showed me a wonderful carpet of stars.
