If you're looking for a relaxing holiday off the beaten track, in an idyllic part of the Tuscan - Emilian Apennines, come to 6stanco. The traditional, stone farmhouses have been faithfully restored, providing elegant, modern bathrooms and stylish interiors. We offer three self-catering apartments each with own dining table and chairs for al fresco dining and three double B&B bedrooms plus the new swimming pool in the garden and complimentary wifi internet access. The football area for kids lies Beyond the Olive grove, large sun terrace and the course room for pottery, yoga, English lessons, the painting course, massage and the private chapel. Once a week, we invite all our guests for a aperitif/pizza evening beneath the grapevine.

Everything was perfect. Ruth is the nicest person ever. Rooms are spacious, pretty and clean. Pool is great. Breakfast as well!

A very lovely place on the mountain side in a sleepy village. The nearby town of Vergato gives you all other amenities you would need. Plenty of restaurants in the area, though you have to navigate a bit in the Italian opening times.\nThe room, house and surroundings were very clean and beautiful.\n\nRuth, the host, was absolutely fabulous. Always there to accommodate and in for a friendly chat or recommendations on the area. Abundant breakfast was served each morning at the time we asked for, with fresh fruit, coffee, bread, cereals, yoghurt and you name it :-)\n\nWe would very much love to come back at this B&B in the future.

Ruth is the perfect host - kind and extremely helpful. 6Stanco is a delightful property in an excellent location. There are plenty of interesting places and good restaurants nearby and it's a quick and easy drive from Bologna. Ruth's breakfasts are perfect and we ate them on the patio under a delightful vine covered patio and with excellent views. We could not have done better - very highly recommended whether you're in the main house or in one of the cottages.

Ruth is a fantastic host! She welcomed us with kindness and warmth. The property is well-maintained in every detail and the garden is lovely. The perfect place to disconnect from the city and relax in beautiful old buildings with strong stone walls and a lovely pool! The breakfast is wonderful, Ruth pampered us with so many delicious things, including homemade jams and cherries from her tree! People like her enhance the area and help keep it alive. I highly recommend staying with Ruth if you want to visit Rocchetta Mattei and experience an authentic and unspoiled area of the Apennines.

The structure is located in a hilly area rich in very beautiful panoramas. We stayed in the rooms of the main house renovated with respect and furnished with great taste. The outdoor space is also beautiful and well-kept. We will return in a warmer period to also enjoy the beautiful pool. Very comfortable beds and superb bathrooms. The icing on the cake was the welcome of Ruth, a special, attentive and helpful person, makes you feel at home and prepares excellent breakfasts.

Located a few minutes from Grizzana and 25 from Rocchetta, it is a characteristic structure for the rock and the layout of the buildings. We stayed in the Camillo room on the 1st floor with wooden floor and door, renovated bathroom, view of the surrounding hills. The pool is really a plus, very pleasant and always accessible. Definitely a place to come back!

6Stanco lies 45km to the south of Bologna and 65km north of Florence, close to the A1 PANORAMICO motorway exit, Rioveggio. Perfect for planning daytrips to Bologna, Florence, Modena, Ravenna, Lucca and Pisa with the bonus of sleeping in peace and serenity in this exquisite natural setting. Very few other tourists pass through this authentic Emilian mountain village. An ideal location for walking and hiking around Stanco which also lies en route 'The Etruscan way': 6Stanco is close to the destination of archaeological ruins and museum of the Etruscan site of Kainua, Marzabotto, 25 minutes by car or a day's trek.
