Antico Borgo il Cardino is on the top of a panoramic hill and it has been recently restored to offer 8 comfortable rooms and 2 apartments furnished in typical tuscan style. Wrought iron beds and décor add to the charm typical of this region.

Antico Borgo il Cardino offers in all rooms private facilities with shower/WC, hair dryer, Sat TV, air conditioning, central heating, private patio terraces with table and chairs, mini bar. Ample private parking area. Swimming-pool with sunbeds and parasols as well as a small lake and a children playground, from where one can enjoy fantastic panoramic views stretching out to the famous skyline of the mediaeval towers of San Gimignano.

In the apartments there is also the kitchen with facilities.

Our services include continental breakfast and on request the owners offer the chance to enjoy some of their own cooking and the opportunity to taste typical Tuscan produce (salami, cheese, ham, wine of San Gimignano and Chianti, olive oil) or simply enjoying a drink at the bar.

Breakfast room, on the ground floor, offers every morning a rich buffet, with ham, salami, fresh Tuscan bread, fruit juices, various jams, honey, milk, coffee, eggs, thè, brioches, and every day a different hand made cake like, crostata with jam, apples cake, peaches cake, chocolate cake, Tuscan ciambellone etc….

During summer time, it is also possible to have breakfast in an outside patio/terrace, partially covered, surrounded by nature and trees. The favourable position of Antico Borgo il Cardino offer the chance to visit many of Tuscany's favourite destinations such as:

There was a power outage the night we stayed, and the staff here took wonderful care of me and my husband. The breakfast was filling, the pool was a nice touch, and the views were immaculate. Thank you very much from Canada!

We wanted to come back to Tuscany and also return to Antico Borgo Il Cardino. If you like simplicity, authenticity (family management), the good mood of the staff from the morning (a big thank you to the team... Monica, Christina, Nicolo), with a view of San Gimignano, surrounded by vineyards, not far from Siena, from Volterra, a beautiful pool, room with terrace (possibility to have breakfast on your terrace... pure happiness), nice restaurants away from the crowds, Thomas to serve you among other things at the bar for the aperitif... and good advice on wine and olive oil... impeccable value for money... We love places like this... We love it and call it a successful vacation. The village restaurant "Tre Archi" and the vineyard "Azienda Agricola Il Palagione". See you soon.

Super nice, impeccable service, very kind staff. Matelas just horrible, hard as concrete with springs in the back. But I'm sure they will be changed very quickly.

Merci pour votre note et vos appréciations. Nous avons choisi des matelas "fermes" plus adaptés à un usage intensif. Trop souples, ils deviendraient très vite mous et inconfortables. Nous sommes désolés si ce type de literie n'est pas de votre gout, d'autres clients le préfère, il est difficile de satisfaire pleinement tout le monde.

How do you explain such a beautiful place? You have to go there! Personally, I stayed only one night but, as I told the owner, I will keep it in mind and recommend it to friends. The staff is courteous, available for any problems, I had one for the shower that they solved in the blink of an eye. The breakfast is more than satisfying. Strategically located to reach charming places (Volterra above all) and immersed in a spectacular landscape, from the pool you can enjoy a suggestive sunset. But explaining it is harder, go there and you will see. Thank you again for everything and goodbye.

We had a great time. It's nice to be able to rest by sleeping many hours in a row without any noise pollution. The pool is very beautiful and clean. The method of availability of umbrella and sunbed already assigned with the same number of the room I would use it even regardless of the covid moment. Breakfast is very good! Served, always to manage the safety of the guests, in the small private garden area, thus excluding the buffet service. Being a 'coffee lover' like me, I asked for two extra coffees paying for it every morning. The employees and owners are all very kind and helpful. The location of the structure is strategic. We easily visited Volterra, Certaldo, and San Gimignano. We relaxed a lot. I recommend the structure and hope to see you again soon.

Our stay at the B&B Antico Borgo Il Cardino was magnificent: we found attentive and very kind hosts. The B&B is in a quiet and reserved location, and there is a beautiful garden available for guests to relax in peace. Just a stone's throw from Todi. Perfect also for those who, like us, travel with a dog. Highly recommended.

Take the motorway A1 Milano - Roma, direction Roma and exit at Firenze Impruneta.
Take the tool-free way Firenze - Siena and exit at Colle Val D'Elsa Nord. After this follow the signs for Volterra.
After about 8 Kms you'll find the town of Castel San Gimignano. Before the sign of Castel San Gimignano, you have to turn right, direction San Gimignano.
After about 100mts turn to the right and there is Antico Borgo Il Cardino.
Arriving from the South:
Take the motorway A1 Roma - Milano, direction Milano and exit at Valdichiana.
Follow the signs for Siena. In Siena take the tool-free way Siena - Firenze and exit at Colle Val D'Elsa Sud. You'll have to follow the signs for Volterra.
After about 8 Kms you'll find the town of Castel San Gimignano. Before the sign of Castel San Gimignano, you have to turn right, direction San Gimignano.
After about 100mts turn to the right and there is Antico Borgo Il Cardino.

Arriving from the Sea-Side:
Take the tool-free way Aurelia and exit at Cecina Palazzi. After this follow the signs for Volterra. You'll have to do about 35 Kms and follow the signs for San Gimignano.
After the town of Castel San Gimignano there is a cross and you have to turn on the left, following the signs for San Gimignano.
After about 100mts turn to the right and there is Antico Borgo Il Cardino.
