Belforte Castle, a majestic fortress from the 15th century, is nestled in the Umbrian countryside just a few kilometers from Todi, offering breathtaking views surrounded by oak and cork forests. Its history is rooted in the noble Todeschini family, who built this imposing stronghold on a hill overlooking the Arnata stream. Over time, the castle has undergone transformations, becoming a welcoming farmhouse for the Charity Congregation of the Nuns of Todi, before being taken over by the Dominici family in 1972, who skillfully renovated much of the structure.
In addition to a delightful Breakfast Room, named "Convivium", guests can choose from five rooms, each furnished in medieval style and overlooking a garden courtyard. The rooms are named after ancient local traditions, such as the Todeschini Room and the Prison Room, evoking stories from past eras and fascinating legends, like that of a mysterious underground tunnel connecting Belforte Castle with nearby fortresses.
The castle is surrounded by a lush garden and offers a common area with relaxation spaces and a playground for the younger ones, creating an ideal environment for families and couples. Mrs. Patrizia Dominici and her family warmly welcome each guest, dedicating themselves daily to ensuring an unforgettable stay in a family-friendly and authentic atmosphere.
Each morning, guests can enjoy an authentic Italian breakfast, prepared with fresh ingredients, which includes a selection of hot drinks, homemade pastries, and savory options. There is also a variety for vegetarians and gluten-free options, ensuring that everyone can savor local flavors in a picturesque and historic setting.
Belforte Castle, besides being an ideal starting point to explore Todi and the magnificent towns of Umbria, such as Assisi, Perugia, and Gubbio, offers a unique atmosphere where history and nature intertwine, inviting guests to discover the timeless charm of a bygone era. With independent rooms and ample distances between them, the property also ensures maximum safety and privacy, following strict hygiene and safety protocols.
