In the heart of Riolunato, amid the landscapes of the Modena Apennines and the mountains of Frignano, Casa Benassi occupies a renovated historic residence. The family-run property, managed by Alberto and Giorgia, benefits from their first-hand knowledge of the area, helping guests find their way among trails, ski slopes and routes to explore in every season.
The property offers rooms with private bathrooms, TVs and Wi-Fi, with breakfast included, as well as apartments with fully equipped kitchens for guests who prefer to arrange their stay independently; breakfast is optional for apartment guests. The buffet includes homemade cakes and biscuits, croissants, bread, yogurt, cereals, fruit, honey, cheese, cured meats and pizza, as well as hot drinks and juices. Plant-based drinks are available, and packaged gluten-free products can be provided on request.
In the garden, the panoramic heated infinity pool, with a waterfall, hydromassage features, a geyser and a shallow bubbling area, is currently closed; it is scheduled to reopen in summer 2027. During the season, the bar serves lunch, snacks and aperitifs. Pool access is included with direct bookings, subject to the conditions communicated by the property. In September and October, a heated Jacuzzi overlooking the mountains and an infrared sauna with a herbal tea area are available by advance reservation, for an additional charge of €10 per person per day. The garden’s Finnish sauna is scheduled to open in November; guests can also request an aperitif to enjoy in the hot tub.
Le Polle, Monte Cimone, Sestola and Abetone offer opportunities for skiing, hiking and walking, depending on the season and trail conditions. Snowshoes are available to rent at the property, as are e-bikes in summer. In Riolunato, a walk through the village takes in the Church of San Giacomo Maggiore, Casa Ferrari and Piazza del Trebbo; Parco della Vallona is a pleasant place to stop outdoors.
Other amenities include free private parking and paid electric-car charging. Electronic invoices are available on request. The property is entirely non-smoking and does not allow pets.
