Our room was lovely. It is about a kilometer from the start of the old town and taxis were not always available in the evenings, so that was a bit of a problem. Free so-so coffee from a vending machine. Internet went down and host responded immediately.

Let's start by thanking the manager for occupying the parking space for us (from his car) in front of the entrance of the property. Thanks again. The directions were perfect, not intrusive in any way but always present and available. The location allows you to reach the Sassi in 15 minutes: exactly what we wanted. Everything corresponded to what was declared and to expectations. A nitpick? We would work a bit on the variety of breakfast, but this is only to help improve the only point that can be improved. We would return with open arms.

Clean and welcoming property! Near the B&B you can park your car safely without any additional charges, as the parking spaces are free. We were welcomed by Maria Grazia who, in a very friendly manner, gave us various indications on places to visit and places to eat. Recommended!

Centrally located structure, with a pleasant walk you easily reach the Sassi area. Clean room and bathroom. Excellent structure, impeccable cleanliness and attention to every detail. It is located a little outside the center but with a very pleasant 15-minute walk you reach the historic center. The girl at the check-in was more than exhaustive, she provided us with all the possible information to discover Matera. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

We were three couples and we were welcomed by Mr. Giuseppe with great cordiality and attention. The structure is small but, as they say, full of history. About ten minutes' walk from the historic part. The owner practically gave us an accelerated course on the history of Matera, organizing our visit to the city and the day of the feast of the Patron Saint: the Madonna della Bruna. As for breakfast, perfect and excellent. All the local sweet and savory products were prepared by Mr. Eustachio, very kind and caring. Two intense and beautiful days. Congratulations. Matera is absolutely splendid to visit.

Well-kept structure down to the smallest details, close to the historic center and the Sassi. Mr. Giuseppe was very kind and upon our arrival, he provided us with very precise directions on where to eat and how to organize our visit to this splendid and unique city. Then in the morning, his dad, a very kind person and available for all our needs, served us a plentiful breakfast with local products. Everything was excellent. Antica Mateola is a small but very well-kept structure. Giuseppe, the manager upon arrival, immediately explained to us with care and professionalism the various activities and gave us many tips on how to move around the beautiful city of Matera. I was truly impressed to find a small magnet in the room as a gift: it was a very thoughtful gesture. It was a truly enjoyable stay.

We stayed at this B&B due to the almost entirely positive reviews on travel websites, and I can only confirm them. The room is cozy, clean, tastefully decorated, and equipped with all comforts. The abundant sweet/savory breakfast is served with local and high-quality products. But the credit for this wonderful structure goes to the truly friendly and helpful staff for every request. In Matera, a wonderful and mysterious city, my wife and I met two brothers, Tonio and Beppe, owners of Antica Mateola Rooms who welcomed us with great hospitality and sympathy. Unfortunately, with great regret, we only stayed for two nights but this short stay was enough to appreciate the merits of the property equipped with small and elegant details that make its best quality and guarantee. It was nice to laugh and joke with them (the brothers), enjoy their typical dialect expressions and important cultural information, together with their father, who kindly drove us along a path of the Sassi: they perfectly understood how to serve the tourist, based on figs, spumoni, and more. Of course, I'm joking but it helps to make it clear to those who read me that at Antica Mateola Rooms the surprises do not end here: go there and then you will be the ones to tell it. Paraphrasing an advertisement of a well-known coach: "What else to say... clearer than this!".

We stayed with my girlfriend for only one night, upon our arrival the owner welcomed us with a rich aperitif, refined and tastefully furnished rooms, very kind and helpful manager, the property is located just 10 minutes from the historic center of Matera, therefore it is not necessary to use public services to reach it.

We visited Matera for the first time, a splendid city with an incredible history to tell, I am referring of course to the 'sassi', and certainly very fascinating. For a two-night stay, we found this Bed and Breakfast and the choice could not have been more perfect. The structure is new and very characteristic, but the most pleasant thing was the great courtesy of the owners, two young brothers who made themselves available to make us feel at home and fulfill our every request. The property is a 10-minute walk from the center, that is, from the 'sassi', small but clean and well-furnished, with a plentiful breakfast, free Wi-Fi, minibar included in the all-inclusive package, air conditioning, and tastefully furnished. If we were to return to Matera one day, we would certainly stay in this property again.

I stayed in Matera last weekend at the beautiful Antica Mateola Rooms. Inside the structure, you can breathe a fairy-tale, typical, elegant, magical atmosphere. It is 7 minutes away from the beautiful Sassi, great breakfast, incredible kindness, ample free parking. I will return to Antica Mateola because it is fantastic.

Beautiful weekend in the magnificent city of the Sassi as guests in this welcoming structure curated to the smallest detail. Its favorable position allows you to reach the main attractions of the city. Comfortable and cozy rooms have everything necessary to fully enjoy a relaxing holiday. The managers are kind and helpful. We stayed at this property and we were enthusiastic and happy. As soon as we arrived, we parked our car practically in front of the structure in a convenient spot and immediately we were greeted by the owners Tonio and Giuseppe, two fantastic people. Antica Mateola is of an elegance that is moving, furnished with taste, a refined and relaxing environment. In a word, beautiful! The delicious breakfast we had while sitting at a magnificent wrought iron table under a characteristic tuff arch in the room. The owners provided us with maps of Matera and told us very culturedly about the history of these wonderful places. In the evening, returning to Antica Mateola, a good herbal tea and off to bed in our splendid room. What can I say... We will definitely be back... It was our first trip to Matera and it was unforgettable! Thank you Antica Mateola, thank you Tonio and Giuseppe. See you soon, Maria and Giò.
