B&B La Torre, located in the heart of the historic center of Crema, represents a refined fusion of history and modernity. Occupying the prestigious Palazzo Franceschini, next to the Sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Grazie and the Campo di Marte gardens, the structure resulted from a skillful renovation of an ancient monastery from the second half of the 17th century. The original architecture is expertly preserved, along with the charming courtyard featuring a fountain and the characteristic bell tower.
The history of this place is rich in meaning, as the monastery witnessed significant historical moments, including its transformation into a private residence in 1797, when conventual life was interrupted by Napoleon. Today, guests can enjoy a quiet and peaceful environment while being immersed in the vibrancy of the center. The elegant bright spaces offer all modern comforts, such as underfloor heating and cooling, excellent acoustic and thermal insulation, oak floors, and refined marble bathrooms with Venetian spatulated walls, along with Wi-Fi internet connection.
Inside the B&B, guests are welcomed by a fresco by Giovanni Segantini in the foyer. The living area, dedicated to reading and conversation, provides a relaxing atmosphere where one can enjoy a hearty breakfast, surrounded by artworks that enrich the experience. The tower offers breathtaking panoramic views of Crema, illuminating the landscape with the cathedral, historic churches, and medieval and Renaissance buildings that characterize the city.
The structure consists of three cozy rooms, each with a private bathroom. The "Primula Rossa" is a double room with a deco-style bathroom, enriched by walnut burl finishes. The "Stella Alpina" features a modern Tyrolean style, with painted spruce details that create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Finally, the "Genziana" suite, lofted and capable of accommodating up to three people, is furnished in a refined Lombardy style from the 1800s, with exclusive access to the terrace.
Managed by Beniamino and Paolo Basso, B&B La Torre represents not just a place to stay, but also an opportunity to explore the culture, art, and beauty of Crema. Guests can immerse themselves in the history of the place and feel part of a welcoming and fascinating tradition.
