The Residence Château Royal elegantly emerges in the heart of Cogne, the result of a skilled renovation of a historic building whose tower, dating back to the 1200s, has been recognized as a national monument. This charming palace has lived a rich history, once serving as a residence for King Vittorio Emanuele II during his hunting trips, and later hosting one of the first and most prestigious hotels in the country in the 1920s and 1930s. Located on Via Dottor Grappein, just a short walk from the beautiful local church, the residence offers an atmosphere that tells stories of a noble past.

Guests can choose from various types of accommodations, adaptable to different needs. The residence has one superior three-room apartment, seven two-room apartments of which three are superior, and five studios, with a total capacity ranging from two to eight people. Each unit features a cozy and functional design, ideal for families and groups of friends.

The Residence Château Royal offers a range of services designed to ensure a comfortable and rejuvenating stay. Among the amenities, there is a shared garden for relaxation, a breakfast bar, and a laundry facility for free use. Included in the stay are bed linens, towels, and a midweek change of linen, as well as final cleaning, excluding the kitchenette which must be returned in order. For those wishing to explore the local cuisine, lunch and dinner can be enjoyed at the affiliated restaurant La Barme in Valnontey. Additionally, for bookings of at least one week in the low season, a dinner invitation at the restaurant is a special gift for guests.

We had a room at the bottom and back of the hotel. It was new, constructed with an outside entrance. There was a bedroom with a complete kitchen and a full bathroom with modern walk in shower. On the terrace outside there were picnic tables and benches and two loungers. The hotel is located at the top of the hill overlooking the stream and highway. On the town side of the hotel it is a short walk to downtown and restaurants. It is possible to drive on the restricted street to the hotel to load and unload luggage. Parking at the bottom of the restricted road next to the cemetery is free. The breakfast was OK but only available from 8:30 to 9:30 which was not convenient.

The accommodation, which is located in the center of Dirf, pleased us very much. We were warmly welcomed and competently advised. The only downside is that the mattresses should be better and a wall lamp should be installed at the dining table.

An excellent solution to spend relaxing days just a few steps from the center of Cogne and many walks. I appreciated the very comfortable bed, the garden with sun loungers for guests, the coolness of the room, and the silence.

Very comfortable and clean apartment with a fantastic view of the Mont Blanc summit. I would add a few more utensils in the kitchen, e.g. bowls for breakfast.

We stayed 4 nights with three of us (us parents and our daughter). Great location, close to the center, quiet. Very well renovated historic monument. Equipped with all the comforts. There is a pleasant outdoor area with table and deck chairs available. Very kind, helpful and punctual managers. Our north-facing studio apartment on the ground floor (never hit by the sun) was a bit damp, but by turning on the heating on the second day, it improved quickly. A bit small for three but for 4 days it can be fine. The double bed is a sofa bed not a real bed. Overall, it went very well!
