Dear Bed-and-Breakfast.it, With reference to the stay at the property “Villa Polara” in Modica from 13/09/25 to 14/09/25, booked through your portal, I inform you of the following. The property proved completely inadequate in terms of hygiene, structure and safety, presenting serious shortcomings such as: - Dilapidated interior and exterior areas, with a persistent smell of mold and damp. - Stained, cracked and yellowed walls. - Bathroom in disastrous hygienic condition (rust, dirty sealant, deteriorated ceiling). - Water bottle in the refrigerator without a label or information. - Rusty and dangerous external gate. - Total absence of staff, video surveillance, emergency devices and emergency exits. These conditions seriously compromised the stay, causing discomfort and stress for the whole family. A terrible experience.

Splendid 18th-century residence that belonged to the noble Polara family of Modica, skillfully restored with respect for the villa's original character. Located in a strategic position for reaching the area's main tourist attractions, Villa Polara proved to be the right choice! The rooms are very spacious, clean and equipped with all comforts. The beds are very comfortable. Beautiful view from the private balcony. Mr. Giuseppe, very kind and helpful, welcomed us on arrival, showing us the property, its history and the important social project associated with it, which turned our purely tourist holiday into a solidarity holiday. Breakfast, which we did not use, is optional and paid. A true oasis of timeless peace. We will return!.

Villa Polara is an excellent facility to spend a holiday in tranquility, surrounded by the green countryside. Beautiful beaches and prestigious art cities can be reached in a short time. The 18th-century villa has been recently renovated. We stayed for two nights in a very spacious room with a brand-new bathroom, equipped with all comforts. Noteworthy is the truly comfortable bed. The breakfast, excellent and abundant, offers the opportunity to taste the delicious sweet products from Bottega della Casa Don Puglisi, a cooperative that operates in the Modica area and manages the villa. Silvana and Salvatore were very kind from the welcoming at our arrival until the departure. They gave us valuable advice on places to visit and restaurants for dinner. We appreciated the philosophy of fair tourism they propose, a place where we would certainly like to return.

The property is immersed in the countryside (you only hear the singing of birds and tranquility), yet very convenient to reach Modica and all services, with the main road at 800m. The atmosphere of the rooms has maintained the charm of the early 20th century, the bathrooms are newly renovated, with taste and functionality. The common areas are very accessible and well-equipped: free coffee and a modern TV for moments of relaxation or bad weather. The staff makes you feel welcomed like friends, very helpful in giving directions and advice or even just exchanging a few words. Even if not always physically present, they are always available by phone. I highly recommend it if you are traveling with children: we have 5 and we were very well received and the treatment was excellent. Thank you for the hospitality, we will be back!

With my wife and children, we spent 10 wonderful days in this area of Sicily based at Villa Polara. The location seems to be the strong point of this property, as it allows for quick movements between the various beaches and towns in the area. The villa has been recently restored, so everything is practically new, from the common areas to the furniture in the rooms. From the first-floor rooms, there is a beautiful high view of the entire area and despite the heat of Sicily, the house is well ventilated. The cool temperature of the house is a real relief when returning in the hottest hours! Renovation works are continuing in the nearby buildings. There is a lot of potential in the green areas behind the villa, which when arranged, could really make the villa wonderful even for stays of pure relaxation without having to go too far (I heard that there are plans for a pool to be built in the future).

We spent a few days of family vacation at Villa Polara with our two one-year-old children. It is a villa dating back to the 1700s, restored and meticulously cared for. Silvia and Salvatore welcomed us warmly and provided us with several helpful tips. The villa is a dream, with a large garden where breakfast is served in the morning with products made in the pastry laboratory of Don Puglisi in Modica (excellent quality). Our room had period floors and a terrace with a panoramic view of the entire Mediterranean coast and countryside. It is a peaceful and quiet place, giving the feeling of living in the times of the Leopard. Furthermore, the villa is less than 20 minutes away from Marina di Modica and Modica, allowing easy access to other locations such as Ispica, Ragusa, Marzamemi, etc. A dream come true!

The villa is an old historic residence full of charm. The furniture is new and the rooms are very spacious, clean, and furnished with all comforts. We also really enjoyed the outdoors, available to all guests. Our nights in the villa were very pleasant, thanks to the cool temperature (despite the heat of August, we didn't need to turn on the air conditioners) and the tranquility of the place being in the middle of the countryside and away from the noise of the road. Despite being in the countryside, the villa is only 15 minutes away from the sea of Pozzallo and the city of Modica, and for us who spent our days between the sea and visiting the surroundings of Ragusa, it was very convenient. The manager was very kind and always available. The breakfast was good (a special mention also goes to the presence of local products) and well organized and managed according to the anti-COVID regulations, like the rest of it.

First of all, my last name is Arigliani and not Arigliano. The Villa Polara structure is pleasant and welcoming. The staff is kind and helpful. Breakfast should be richer and more varied.

I booked at Villa Polara because it gave me the opportunity to use the holiday bonus. The photos published on the website corresponded to reality, in fact... they don't do justice to the beauty of the villa; I felt like I was catapulted into 19th century Sicily and the place, being in the countryside, is very peaceful. The villa is beautiful, the rooms are clean and equipped with air conditioning; the staff is very friendly and efficient. Breakfast is made up of products made by the same non-profit organization that manages the structure (jams, almond milk, fresh fruit and baked goods with Sicilian flours). I didn't want to leave but unfortunately my finances don't allow it. It will remain a beautiful memory for me. Recommended for those who love the landscapes, the smells and flavors of Sicily and for those who love to detox from the frenzy of the city and immerse themselves in the silence of the countryside; it is also suitable for those who want to spend some time by the sea but then return to a quiet place. Thank you very much.

Lovely place, 15 minutes by car from Modica. If you are looking for tranquility, Villa Polara is the place for you. Recently renovated structure respecting the history of the place. Kind and helpful staff. The only flaw is the breakfast, not up to expectations (and the cost).

Have you ever heard that the beauty of things loves to surprise you! The stay at Villa Polara pleasantly surprised us! We were looking for a place to use as a base for a series of excursions in the Val di Noto and we discovered Villa Polara, the ideal place to spend a beautiful and relaxing vacation, pampered by the sweetness of the Dolciario Don Pino Puglisi lab and by the attentive and caring staff who accompanied our delightful breakfasts, in full compliance with the anti Covid 19 measures, in the beautiful garden of the villa. Breakfast includes a whole series of pastry products prepared by the Don Puglisi cooperative, the rooms are comfortable, clean and very fresh even without air conditioning! Both my husband and I are happy to have had a beautiful and supportive vacation, and before leaving Modica we made a small supply of the excellent sweets produced by the cooperative. What more can I say... we will definitely come back!

The breakfast was limited but sufficient. Silvana, who took care of the breakfast and rooms, was enthusiastic and used Google Translate extensively. Salvatore, who handled the check-in, came to look for us because the GPS didn't find the exact address.
