Located in a historic building of the XV century, the apartment is within the walls of the town, in Via Fillungo, the most prestigious pedestrian street in Lucca, famous for shopping and restaurants. The medieval Piazza Anfiteatro is only 100 meters away.

The apartment is perfect for families with children but can also be ideal for one or two couples: 1 large double bedroom with tv; Entrance / lounge with double sofa bed; Living room with fully equipped kitchenette, bathroom and children's bedroom.

The mezzanine was in the past an intermediate apartment between the first and the third floor, with low ceilings, intended for servitude; Today the apartment has been completely restored keeping intact the old
vaulted ceilings with red bricks and the Toscany style.

In Lucca there are many lovely, elegant, old apartments. However, this apartment is different: you can turn the whole city but you will not find a similar one. That's why we chose it from so many and now we want to share it with you. Give yourself an authentic experience in a unique place with an ancient flavor and typically “lucchese”.

It was such a pleasure to stay at The Mezzanine Within the Walls. You stay in the midst of history. The arched brick ceilings and floors transport you back in time 400 years. The bedroom was just wonderful - spacious, cozy, and full of character. The kitchen has all you need, and the bathroom and shower are comfortable and lovely. There are restaurants and gelato shops at the doorstep, and you are just a few steps away from the Piazza Dell'Anfiteatro. There are shops all along Via Fillungo. It is an easy walk from the train station, and there are buses and taxis if you prefer. My host Gabriele was responsive and flexible and made sure I had everything I needed. I would absolutely stay here again if I get the opportunity.

A truly cozy and characteristic little house, with its vintage objects, with its beautiful solid wood furniture that gives a tone of color and warmth, with its round shape, with its large spaces and its wonderful little corners, with its fantastic bookshelf and reading nook. You would want to stay a month to read and revitalize in humanity. The owner is also very nice and friendly. The proximity to the Basilica of San Frediano then completes the picture. Oh, and in the house there is really everything one may need in a warm and cozy house.

Beautiful and charming bed and breakfast, in the center of Lucca, a short walk from everything. The apartment is beautiful as in the photos, even more so. Comfortable bed, spacious areas (the bathroom is the most compact but functional and complete with everything, even cleansing wipes and micellar water for makeup removal. Gabriele is kind and helpful. In the house, you will find a list of places to have lunch/dinner, etc., very useful.

Wonderful apartment. Very central and beautiful area. Cleanliness (I checked to see if there was dust), perfect. There are dishes and everything needed to prepare dinner or breakfast. Very comfortable bed. The stairs to get to the apartment are a bit awkward and poorly lit. Paid parking not very close and not cheap (2 euros per hour, it seems to me). Maybe there are other free parking areas in the area, but I didn't find them. But parking is a problem of the Lucca traffic anyway, not of the apartment which remains one of the most beautiful I've been to. I will definitely come back. And I put myself among those who, if there were a higher rating than 10, I would give it.

Very nice and charismatic accommodation, spacious (we were 4), clean and with a small play area for children that is very useful. Excellent value for money, friendly and helpful owners. Ps: there is also a record player with a selection of quite good records. Highly recommended.

I currently live in Umbria and Tuscany; in Umbria I live in an 18th century farmhouse built inside a wood while in Tuscany I live in the beautiful Lucca in the most famous street of the historic center. My greatest passion has always been the kitchen. I cooked in Rome, in London, in Sardinia, in Umbria and now in Lucca. I worked in some restaurants but the thing that gives me more pleasure is cooking for a few people in intimate and informal environments. Area Centro

As in the whole old town, the area is limited to traffic. However you can enter the car inside the walls, up to Piazza Santa Maria; Park for a fee (or free from 08: 00 to 08: 00) and travel only 250 meters to get to the apartment
In Piazza Santa Maria you can also rent bikes and walk to the splendid city walls. Immediately outside the walls there are also free parking spaces (contact us for more information).
