A charming and welcoming bed and breakfast.

We are not used to share our comments, but in this case we make a well-deserved exception due to the fantastic experience. Angela and her husband are very welcoming hosts, they gave great suggestions and made the stay pleasant in a wonderful agriturismo close to the sea and to the Baroque architecture of Noto and Scicli! A place to come back to! Stefano and Anna.

This is the kind of holiday spot that is written about in novels: golden days spent near the sea, sharing meals with an Italian family on their farm as the cat lazes in the sun. The immediate surrounding area isn’t picturesque, but inside the gate is an oasis of green, with an Eden-like garden that provides every fruit and vegetable one could wish for. We only stayed one night, travelling down from Catania in order to walk (and swim) in the footsteps of Inspector Montalbano. More of this below. We requested an evening meal and our host pulled out all the stops by providing us with a vegetarian feast, where absolutely everything, from the olives to the wood-fired oven-baked bread, was produced right there on the farm. The food was simply prepared with ingredients literally pulled fresh from the ground. The conversation was awkward, given the minimal textbook Italian we speak, but towards the end of the meal, I asked about the Italian citrus fruit, cedro. This caused our host to spring up from his seat, pick one of the fruits (and some onion and some parsley) from the garden and prepare us a salad so that we could try it for ourselves. Breakfast was equally memorable with two different homemade cakes and cornetti/croissants with a range of homemade jams.\n\nOur accommodation was great for the night we spent there. The bedroom had air conditioning and television and there was a shower, kitchen, and small dining area, plus a large outside veranda with seating overlooking the garden. We didn’t book self-catering, so there was a sign in the sink that forbade its use – inconvenient for sharing an evening glass of wine and washing up afterwards, but understandable – but families could and do spend the whole summer here. I did get the feeling that our hosts were friendly with the other Italian guests and they patiently waited for us to finish our meals before gathering together for more convivial socialising together without the language barrier we presented.\n\nThere is secure parking and the house is a short drive into Punta Secca, which serves as Montalbano’s Vigàta in the series. We tried to book at his actual house in Punta Secca, but this place was much nicer. As for the town, Montalbano fans won’t be disappointed. Everything was much nicer than I expected it to be. The house, the lighthouse, the parking space, and the fish restaurant are all there, looking exactly as they do in the films, and there is hardly any evidence of tourism. We went in the evening and the small beaches had a few people on them, but nothing like the beach umbrella purgatory of other beaches (we were there in May, however). The highlight of our trip to Sicily was waking up early and swimming outside the house at 6. 30 a. m. Not a single other person was there, and it was just like being in the film.

This is a beautiful place to stay. The accommodation is spacious and clean. The beach at Torre di Mezzo is lovely and very quiet, in May. Angela's breakfasts are delicious and I was delighted to be able to enjoy one of her dinners that she made for a group of guests. The wifi signal is good in the patio area but not really strong enough in the bedrooms/chalets.

Nice room in a quiet fruit farm just outside Punta Secca. Very nice outdoor area with seating. Parking in the fenced property. Rich breakfast with various homemade cakes and lots of homemade jams. Very suitable for dog owners!

The welcome was very kind and the breakfast together with the hosts remains a wonderful memory. Thanks to Mrs. Angela and her husband.

Highly recommended B&B for the warm welcome, the helpfulness and the very useful tips from the owners. Quiet and well-kept rooms. Excellent breakfast thanks to Angela's cakes and jams. Great location for beaches and baroque towns. Worth returning.

There are many reasons why Mare Indaco has remained in our hearts: the peace and tranquility that can be felt in this establishment just steps from the sea, the lush and well-kept garden, the kindness and friendliness of the managers, the cleanliness of the premises, and the delicious breakfast made with genuine products. In short, definitely worth recommending.

Nice place with peace and tranquility very close to the sea. The managers, Angela and her husband, are kind and pleasant people, and some stray cats keep company during moments of relaxation. Highly recommended.

Very beautiful, clean, welcoming and above all fragrant structure. The rooms and the linen are very fragrant. The lady, owner of the structure, is very down to earth, helpful, and above all good at preparing a breakfast made from natural and homemade foods. Organic jams and fruits from her garden make the extra touch to choose this structure. I was very satisfied and highly recommend it.

Simple and very welcoming atmosphere and lots of laughs with Mrs. Angela and her family. Pleasant and much appreciated the communal table where you can have breakfast with the other guests and share the homemade cakes freshly baked every day made with home eggs, seasonal fruit from their production, and equally homemade juices and tea. Definitely worth going back but it is recommended during the cooler months!

How to feel at home, perhaps even better! Pampered by Mrs. Angela and her delicacies. Very well-kept, clean structure and convenient location to visit various charming places of beloved Sicily and a stone's throw from the beach for a refreshing swim. I fondly remember the availability of Angela's husband in accompanying our daughter to visit the vegetable garden and spend a pleasant hour shelling beans while chatting. We will definitely come back.

On the sign of the property is written 'Mare Indaco', and it's just like that. A wonderful family that welcomes you and makes you feel immediately at ease. Angela, Elio, and their two children pampered us with abundant and always different breakfasts, cakes, fresh fruit, brioche, homemade jams of 15 different flavors. Not to mention the advice and tastings of fresh fish. A marvel, we can't wait to come back, thank you for everything.

We have just returned from a holiday in Sicily, 5 days of which were spent in this small structure with a very beautiful design that maintains a simplicity that immediately conquered us. The room with a loft is a truly fantastic solution and the cleanliness not only of the room but of the entire structure is really good. However, the real added value is the sympathy, cordiality, and availability of the managers Angela and Elio, people who made us feel 'at home' and the abundant breakfast surprises for quality and especially for the variety of Angela's cakes. To those who have the opportunity to pass by Punta Secca, we absolutely recommend this structure for the whole year.

Very comfortable place, like being at home, the hosts a formidable couple, she the dynamic owner and multitasker, the husband excellent entertainer, a very nice person to have a conversation with. Extremely helpful in advising you on how to make the most of your stay. Definitely recommended.

Excellent, to recommend to everyone. The Cappello family that manages 'Mare Indaco' is made up of friendly, welcoming, and helpful people, lovers of good cuisine made with their genuine products. I also had the opportunity to learn about the basic foods grown in the greenhouses. The structure is beautiful, with a very spacious and peaceful portico. The sea and the surroundings complete a fabulous part of Sicily. A mix of sun, sea, and culture. Thank you for everything and hope to see you soon.

Great hospitality and availability combined with the friendliness of the family. Delicious breakfasts prepared by Mrs. Angela and fantastic dinners based on fish and local products, like being with family. With appropriate advice that was never out of place, they made our vacation unique. The location is a few hundred meters from the sea, a bit tucked away, making it an ideal place for vacations focused on tranquility. The property features classic greenhouses where vegetables are grown, which cannot be considered a flaw, because you can savor what is served at the table. An experience to repeat at least one more time.

8 days at Mare Indaco as a gift. My mother had been there and returned ecstatic, both for the beauty of the places and for the bed and breakfast itself. Well, for once she was absolutely right. The Cappello family is courteous, friendly, never intrusive, always available for advice or even just for some small talk at the beginning or end of the day. The greenhouses surrounding the structure do not take anything away from the bed and breakfast, which is cute and well-kept, with a beautiful veranda ready to host breakfasts in the company of other guests. Here are the breakfasts: Angela is unique. Forget about home, I wish home was like this. Delicious cakes and different almost every day, homemade jams with exclusively local products that are out of this world, freshly squeezed juice, the fresh fruit from Elio, in short, the best. And as if that were not enough, we recommend everyone to stop at least once for dinner because for a reduced cost one can enjoy the delicacies of the Cappello family. Personally, my girlfriend and I want to thank Giovanni, the son of Angela and Elio, for welcoming us like friends. Moving on to practical matters, the structure is a bit hidden, but it gains tranquility from it. The sea is just a few steps away with Torre di Mezzo, a few minutes with Punta Secca, and a short bike (or car/scooter) ride to Marina di Ragusa and Punta Braccetto. All wonderful places. The rooms are cute, simple, with spacious and very well-kept bathrooms. I have already rambled on enough, I would say. I can say that we will definitely return to Mare Indaco, even if only to greet the Cappello family. The most beautiful thing is that despite the compliments they receive, they take every criticism constructively and strive daily to improve the bed and breakfast and the services offered, so as to make all of us customers feel at home, indeed, much better. Congratulations really, you even managed to get me to write my first online reviews. A hug.
