Located on the hillside and surrounded by lemon trees and vineyards, Dint' a Torre is just a stone's throw from the sea. A unique site offering tranquility and a breathtaking, panoramic view of the blue sky, the green hills and the shimmering sea of the Amalfi Coast.

We had a really good time here. It is a really beautiful village just a couple of minutes from Amalfi. The room was very nice as well, quite big and very clean. I must mention that the attention we received from Angela was excellent; she explained everything to us as soon as we arrived, including the apartment details, the bus timetable, and the best places to visit on the Amalfi Coast. She was very kind to us and made us feel at home. Breakfast was also very nice. I would definitely stay here again if I come back.

Very good value for money. About 30 minutes hike down and up from the main Amalfi town, alternatively a bus runs a few times to and from the center. Decent breakfast, fantastic hosts. No complaints overall.

Wow, what a find of a B&B! A truly wonderful experience, with such lovely hosts and a room with views across the valley. The location was perfect for our exploration of the Amalfi coast, from Amalfi itself to Ravello, Positano and beyond. A lovely hilltop village with 2 great restaurants and easy access to Amalfi via the bus or driving. The steps to Amalfi are long, but worth the walk - although walking back is hard on your legs! We will return again one day soon. Thank you again for an unforgettable stay.

Lovely little place with a fantastic view. Rooms are quite small but very clean and well looked after. To get to the accommodation you can either walk up 1.5 km of steps or catch a bus with a short walk. We did both with success with the help of the host who provided some good information on the public transport. Delicious restaurants nearby with amazing views.

Beautiful place and extremely clean. Host was amazing and always willing to answer any questions or help us where necessary. Only problem was the inconsistency of the public bus, which takes you down to the town. It often can arrive early and leave before the time it was supposed to arrive, and can leave you stranded especially when it is at night and barely any buses are running.

From homemade jellies to a beautiful view, this was an amazing choice for a bed and breakfast. The hosts are mother and daughter, the sweetest people. Our rooms were comfortable and clean. They laid out bus schedules and a little tour of where to go around the town. If you want some quiet away from the madness the main square offers, this is a great place for that. Also, if you are not one for exercise, definitely get a bus up to the room; otherwise, take on the challenge of those stairs! We've been eating a lot, so it was good to burn some calories while we could. Everything was delicious, and honestly, it made our stay so much better because we stayed here.

Dint a Torre was a wonderful place to stay. You get excellent views of the Amalfi coast, it is quiet at night, and there are plenty of hikes and nature nearby. The property was nice and clean, and the hosts kind. This place is especially enjoyable if you are an active and outdoorsy person who likes to get away from the crowds. We will stay again!

I had a very pleasant stay at this B&B. The location is perfect for hiking purposes and the small village is very suited when you like to be in a quiet place yet also near to the bustling city of Amalfi. I think I have never met a more helpful host like Maria and her friendly mother who makes the best breakfasts. Maria helped me with renting a scooter, hiking paths, and other activities. The rooms are very clean and tidy and have the best view from their personal balcony. I highly recommend staying at Maria and her family's B&B! Thank you, Maria, for letting me stay at your place! I had a wonderful time.

Maria and her family were incredibly kind. I had hurt myself a bit prior to my arrival, and they went out of their way to help me. Also, the food was good and the place has a great view. Great place to stay.

Great location close to 2 good restaurants, slightly outside Amalfi, so little hustle and bustle and good air, quiet, view, Wi-Fi unfortunately often didn't work properly, excellent option with garage, very personal, very hospitable managers, very well-kept rooms, very small shower.

My husband and I stayed at Dint 'a Torre for four nights in the summer of 2017 and it was very pleasant. The breakfast was excellent, the homemade jam was delicious, and the coffee as well! Maria and her mother were very nice and helped us with directions, every morning with a big smile. This B&B is very close to Amalfi! As a recommendation for future guests, we suggest taking transportation to reach this B&B, especially in summer. There are two ways to get from Amalfi (by foot and by bus) but in summer we do not recommend walking to Pontone, at least not during the afternoon due to the high temperatures. Pontone is very nice and quiet, exactly what we were looking for our vacation!

Structure located in an ancient village recommended especially for those seeking tranquility, a few minutes from Amalfi by car and about 20 minutes on foot using the path that descends from the village of Scala Pontone to the center of Amalfi. The B&B manager is caring and discreet, available for any request. Breakfast at the Blue Bar adjacent to the structure, a characteristic place managed in a family environment where you can also find groceries and the possibility of dining with typical dishes or possibly pizza. Nearby, the San Giovanni restaurant where you can have lunch and/or dinner both as a restaurant and as a pizzeria. The B&B has reserved parking upon request, very useful as parking in the area is limited and often hard to find.

Modern and very clean structure! The balcony with a view of the village of Pontone and Amalfi was very nice. Owners available for any information about places to visit and for any request. The only thing I didn't like very much: closing cleaning is the customer's responsibility and this was not indicated, but then again you are on the Amalfi coast and everything is expensive! We really enjoyed our stay.

The kindness and availability of Mrs. Angela is the first thing that stands out. The breakfast is excellent, with products directly produced by the Palumbo family. The homemade jams are exquisite. The B&B Dint' a Torre is an excellent structure for short vacations as well. There is an excellent structure that shows spectacular cleanliness, located exactly 5 km from Amalfi, reachable on foot via stairs or by bus. The managers of the B&B are very trustworthy and very available, providing as much information as possible to travelers. Furthermore, the structure offers an excellent quality-price ratio. The Palumbos "Dint' a Torre" Bed & Breakfast is owned by the Palumbo family - a distinguished and noble family originally from the enchanting Campania region of Southern Italy. The message we wish to give to our Guests is the same that we have received. We are three siblings who were brought up and lived for sometime in the "old tower", sharing the beauty of our childhood, the most significant period of life. Then, we soared just like three white doves to discover new places and bring our message of peace and serenity. A brief explanation of our logo Enclosed in a shield, the logo features the Palumbo Family Crest: a white dove holding a golden olive branch in its beak. No wonder that the same white dove is metaphorically embedded in the tower, the ancient fortress, which is now a place of calm and inspiration located between the sea and the hills. Medieval towers are the symbol of this village, made of picturesque houses and historical and cultural sites such as the famous "Torre dello Ziro" (a watch tower built in the 15th century on a rocky outcrop overlooking Amalfi and Atrani) and "Valle delle Ferriere", a natural wonder which gives birth to species of plants rarely found in Italy, such as the Woodwardia radicans fern, a sort of living fossil, dating back to the Tertiary period. The valley is also well known for its paper mills - the oldest in Europe - which used to produce the famous Amalfi paper. Both sites are protected by UNESCO.

Pontone, the "Village Museum"

Overlooking Amalfi, Pontone is a picturesque hillside village roughly 200 meters above sea level. Currently a district of Scala, Pontone was part of the Municipality of Amalfi until the early 20th century during which time it was a popular destination for the clergy and noble class of the Amalfitan Duchy who were in search of the casual and relaxed atmosphere the village had to offer...

Today Pontone is still a quiet and rural village that enchants every visitor with the renowned warmth and hospitality of its villagers, its aristocratic houses, bell towers and three churches of great historical and artistic value. Pontone's daily life is based around its main square or "piazza" featuring the medieval church of St. John the Baptist, which dates back to the 12th century. Around the same square, you will find two restaurants/pizzeria offering superb local cuisine and a coffee bar where you can sit right under the trees in the square enjoying a good "espresso" or a cold beer.

Pontone is also an excellent starting point for excursions to the other centers along the Amalfi Coast and, especially for nature and mountain trail lovers, to the "Valle delle Ferriere" or towards the famous "Torre dello Ziro".

In conclusion, as late Mons. Cesario D'Amato wonderfully described it in his book "SCALA" published in 1975, "the guest will finally enjoy a small world, simple, poor but extremely pleasant, in complete contrast with the big, urbanized, discontent, grumpy, disrupted world because far from the purity of nature, far from that admirable Artist whom God is..."

How to reach Dint' a Torre in Pontone

By motorway, coming from Naples on the A2, pass Pompei and Salerno. Take the exit for Angri and go for Nocera. Continue along the indications for Valico di Chiunzi. At Valico di Chiunzi follow the signs heading for Ravello, Scala, Amalfi.

When you reach Ravello turn to your right into the tunnel. At its exit turn right again. After a first bend to the right continue for about 50 meters and you reach an intersection to the left (by turning to the right you will reach Scala). Just follow the road signs as this is the road that will safely guide you to Pontone.

Coming from Amalfi continue in the direction for Minori, Maiori, Salerno until you find an intersection with the indications for Pontone, Scala, Ravello, Valico di Chiunzi. Turn left and follow the signs to Pontone.

Coming from Salerno continue in the direction for Maiori, Minori and before you reach Amalfi follow the signs for Pontone Scala, Ravello, Valico di Chiunzi.
