Marco's property is a beautiful farmhouse with a lot of culture and history. You can feel it with the exposed historical walls and charming touches such as rustic windows. The lavender and plants everywhere felt like a fairytale come to life. My partner and I absolutely loved staying at Marco's in every way except the accessibility to food. We did not bring a car and quickly realized that this property isn't close to any restaurants and bussing is limited after walking 13 minutes to the stop. Marco's property felt like heaven every time we came back from our daily adventures such as visiting the waterfall and mountain biking. Marco was a great host and accommodated us well. We had a lovely time!

Marco is a very sympathetic host, very helpful. The property is well kept and clean. It's a pity that the view in the garden and swimming pool is seriously disturbed by a high voltage pylon. Nor can we give a positive quotation on the breakfast. Kristien & Dirk, Belgium.

I stayed one night with a friend in the Lilla room. It was really very nice. I used the kitchenette. I would have liked to find a toaster. It was a nice experience. The owner was helpful in giving directions and the staff member was kind and friendly. I already have a new trip planned for the spring. I will definitely return and can take advantage of the complimentary vouchers.

Nice property with a garden. Convenient location for reaching the waterfalls, but in an industrial area and adjacent to an old power plant. During our stay the pool was unusable and the nearby restaurants and pizzerias were also closed.

Gentile Alessandra, mi spiace leggere che la nostra posizione in campagna, a contatto col fiume e a due passi dalla cascata le è sembrata una "zona industriale". La centrale di cui parla è la vecchia centrale di Cervara, prima centrale di terni del 1910, preziosa opera di archeologia industriale ancora non valorizzata adeguatamente, che comunque si trova lungo la strada che porta da noi a diverse centinaia di metri, e non capisco come abbia potuto disturbarla. Chiudiamo la piscina il 15 settembre, perché ormai date le temperature non viene più utilizzata, ma lasciamo lettini ed attrezzature per prendere il sole, ed ovviamente il prezzo del soggiorno è più basso. Lei ha pagato 10€ in meno a notte rispetto ai primi di Settembre, proprio perchè la chiusura della piscina fa scattare prezzi minori. Riguardo i ristoranti, forse i due convenzionati saranno stati chiusi una sera ma sicuramente non tutti i 3 giorni della vostra permanenza. Comunque, se mi avesse chiesto le avrei suggerito altri locali da chiamare, visto che abbiamo una lunga lista di posti consigliati, per non parlare delle decine di locali in città che è a soli 3km da noi. In alternativa ci sono anche alcuni delivery. Mi spiace che non abbia chiesto il mio aiuto. Sarà per la prossima. Saluti

Marco, the owner, is a person of great worth, very committed and attentive to details. La Porta della Val Nerina is a small oasis where you can notice the great care and cleanliness of the pool and the lawn. It is a pity we stayed only a couple of days.

Marco is a very helpful and welcoming host. The property is surrounded by greenery, just a few minutes' drive from the Cascata delle Marmore. We had a peaceful stay close to nature.

An oasis of peace just 5 minutes from the Marmore Falls. Beautiful structure with a pool. The owner is very kind and helpful. Clean and well-kept environment but with some flaws such as the lack of mosquito nets on the windows in the face of a massive presence of mosquitoes that prevents keeping the windows or the French door open at night (in the absence of air conditioning), the sofa bed with broken central slats, and the wobbly toilet seat. For this reason, I believe the quality-price ratio is not a 10.

La tavoletta è stata cambiata, purtroppo gli ospiti precedenti avevano rotto il cardine, adesso speriamo che la nuova sia trattata con più cura. Riguardo le doghe del divano letto rotte, nessun ospite mi ha detto niente ed ovviamente non potevo accorgermene. Provvedo subito a controllare ed a riparare tutti i danni. Le zanzariere le stiamo aggiungendo alle stanze, per ora abbiamo intrapreso una azione quindicinale di disinfestazione nei dintorni della struttura. Alla prossima, saluti.

The place is beautiful and you breathe a wonderful air of peace. The river a few steps away is an enchanted place to see. The pool in this corner of tranquility is very pleasant. Bathing in the river is for those who are not afraid of the glacial cold of the Nera waters. I would recommend offering something more for the self-catering breakfast.

Riguardo la colazione, noi cerchiamo di offrire agli ospiti più prodotti possibili, ma lasciando in ogni camera il necessario per prepararla e non avendo una sala comune, risulta un pò complicato mettere prodotti freschi che poi ad ogni cambio ospite andrebbero sicuramente sprecati ( già buttiamo via litri di latte per chi apre una busta da un litro solo per macchiare un caffè). Comunque stiamo valutando di aggiungere alcuni prodotti e vedremo come risponderanno i prossimi ospiti. Saluti

My boyfriend and I spent a few quiet days at B&B La Porta della Valnerina, in the blue room, and we felt right at home. The place is truly immersed in nature, the blue room is on the first floor of the farmhouse in a rustic, bright, and welcoming apartment, the private bathroom was clean and comfortable and there was everything we needed! The breakfast was a bit below our expectations: it lacked a bit of variety and a few more options would have been appreciated. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed the simple things offered. After our visits (near the Marmore waterfall and Lake Piediluco), being able to dive into the pool surrounded by greenery or relax by the natural pond was the highlight for recharging our energy and disconnecting. But what impressed us the most was Marco's kindness, the owner, who was always available and ready to give us advice on what to see in the area. Besides Marco's kindness, we were pleased to notice how everything was taken care of in detail, from the fresh flowers to the common areas, which made the stay even more enjoyable. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic place with plenty of greenery around, this B&B is truly perfect. We will undoubtedly return!

It is truly a beautiful place kept in perfect condition. Everything is super clean and the garden is equipped to spend the evenings sitting outside or by the pool. What can I say about Marco? Strategic location and quiet area. We stayed in the "Lilla Room", very welcoming and spacious. Breakfast could be improved, which is basic and could be enhanced with other products (such as decaffeinated coffee or nescafè, variety of teas and/or herbal teas, fruit juices, biscuits, cereals, yogurt, etc.), even if packaged in compliance with current regulations but would make the stay better. Also, a small price increase could be considered, justified by more abundant and varied breakfast products. Mr. Marco, the owner, is kind and friendly, and the information provided for the stay is detailed. B&B to recommend to all those who want to stay in the area, especially for its proximity to the Marmore Waterfall and the city of Terni.

E' la prima volta che qualcuno suggerisce di fare un ritocco del prezzo in aumento sa?: -) Grazie del consiglio sul caffè decaffeinato e nescafè, non ci avevo pensato ma provvederò a farlo al più presto. Per Yogurt e succhi abbiamo qualche problema logistico in più ma troverò il modo di fornirli. Beautiful structure in the green with a fabulous setting. Just a stone's throw from the waterfalls. Unfortunately, due to the bad weather, we couldn't take advantage of the many services like barbecue, swimming pool, and really large garden. The owner was extremely helpful and kind even when we arrived at 23:00. Recommended.

The rooms and mini apartments are cozy, clean, and equipped with everything you need. The manager is friendly and offers visitors the opportunity to visit the natural and historical attractions of the area at very affordable prices. The only "low" vote, but still above sufficiency, is for "breakfast": abundant but a bit monotonous; the trick is to vary! Really a nice stay, I will come back.

Nice country house with direct access to the Nerina river, swimming pool, and park. No room refurbishment or cleaning provided, at least for short stays. Breakfast could definitely be improved, shared jar of cookies instead of single portions. Partly unpaved road for access.

Grazie per la buona recensione e per i consigli Sandra. Si, la pulizia con cambio asciugamani la facciamo ogni 3/4 giorni su richiesta ( essendo quasi tutti miniappartamenti molti preferiscono avere sempre la loro privacy) e il cambio lenzuola ogni 7 giorni. Per la colazione abbiamo quasi tutto in monoporzione, cosa che ci porta ad avere ovviamente grandi quantità di cibo sprecato per via dei molti avanzi non recuperabili. Per evitare ulteriori sprechi abbiamo preferito lasciare almeno i biscotti in barattoli di vetro. Ogni monolocale ha il suo contenitore privato, solo al primo piano ci sono le due stanze che usano la cucina in comune che usano lo stesso barattolo (dove alloggiavate voi). Per il resto dolci, latte, anche le bottiglie d'acqua sono divise tra le stanze per colore. Dei biscotti nessuno si è mai lamentato, ma mettere un altro barattolo per differenziare non mi costa niente, quindi penso che seguirò il suo consiglio e provvederò ad aggiungerne uno in più. Absolutely the best structure in the Marmore/Terni area and surroundings. Studios with kitchen, bathroom, and top services, accurate cleaning, relaxing and well-kept location, and the owner Marco is super kind and helpful. The area offers many nice things to do and see: from the Marmore waterfalls to Narni, passing through Lake Piediluco. Highly recommended for both the most adventurous and those who want to relax.

We spent 2 nights at Marco's property, where we were welcomed with kindness and friendliness. The place is very beautiful (the history of the farmhouse is also beautiful), well-kept and peaceful. Excellent cleanliness and excellent location just 10 minutes from the Marmore waterfalls and also very close to Narni. Highly recommended.

We stayed at this B&B and had a great time. Marco, the manager, is a very kind and helpful person. The farmhouse is very beautiful and very clean. It is a 5-star B&B and if there was a higher rating than 5, I would give it. It also has a very nice swimming pool and an excellent value for money. It is located 10 minutes from the Marmore waterfall and Narni, where I recommend a visit to the underground Narni. I recommend it to everyone.

Mi spiace molto leggere questa sua recensione Pamela, che trovo alquanto ingiusta. Io non ho fatto altro che indicarvi all’arrivo, come faccio con tutti, le semplici norme di comportamento da seguire per mantenere la tranquillità del B&B ed evitare danni alla struttura e incidenti agli ospiti stessi. Visto che i bambini molto vivaci continuavano a tenere un comportamento un po’ sopra le righe e nessuno gli diceva niente, ho ripetuto (una volta sola tra l’altro) anche a loro che non potevano correre urlando intorno al casale, giocare a pallone in piscina, giocare nell’accoglienza e scavalcare le siepi da poco piantate… tutto qua. Ho avuto decine e decine di bambini anche quest’anno è tutto è sempre andato per il meglio. Alcuni sono stati degli angeli, altri un po’ più scalmanati, ma tutti quando facevano qualcosa di troppo sono stati sempre “più o meno” redarguiti dai genitori. Però mai nessun genitore si è rivoltato contro di me dicendo che è colpa mia perché non consento ai bambini di giocare liberamente. Avremmo potuto semplicemente trovare una soluzione insieme per risolvere la situazione, ma è andata così. Danni e disagi non si creano in questo B&B proprio perché io mi dedico quotidianamente a cercare di mantenere tutto in perfetto ordine e tranquillità. Purtroppo sono costretto a controllare costantemente che tutto proceda bene, ed a redarguire chi non rispetta le regole. Mi spiace per l’imbarazzo che si è creato, ne avrei fatto sicuramente a meno. Mi spiace non avervi potuto offrire prodotti locali per la colazione, ma purtroppo qui da noi le norme ASL impongono alle strutture di dimensioni e tipologia come la mia, di fornire tutti prodotti confezionati e tracciati. Nel sito ufficiale del B&B è già specificato, controllerò che sia ben chiaro anche in questo portale. Comunque spero di riuscire in futuro a poter offrire qualcosa di "fatto in casa" se le norme dovessero cambiare. Alla prossima.

The structure is very beautiful, very close to the Marmore Waterfalls and the rafting center (5 minutes by car) and inside the room it is possible to discover the history of B&B La Porta della Valnerina thanks to a little book that retraces all the steps. The pool is clean and with a short walk you can reach the natural pools. Highly recommended for those who want to spend days of pure relaxation.

Passing through, we stayed for only one night and we were very pleased; the structure is very well-kept and of good quality, quiet and relaxing place. We really appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Excellent cleanliness of the premises inside which nothing is missing; outside there is a nice pool. Very convenient and in an optimal position to visit the waterfall. We will definitely come back for more days. Recommended for a quiet and relaxing holiday and for walks in nature.

Nice property near the Marmore waterfalls, strategically located to reach other tourist areas. The room was in excellent condition. In my opinion, it would be useful to add a microwave oven and daily cleaning material (such as a mop or similar). The host was always available. We had a great stay. The breakfast was continental and already present in the room upon arrival.

The structure is commendable and located in a green park with a beautiful pool suitable for adults and partially for children. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the practically nonexistent service, especially for breakfast which you have to prepare yourself with low-quality products. In the fridge there was only water, not even a yogurt or fruit juice and the coffee made by oneself with an old moka pot, never happened in a bed and breakfast like this. Room cleaning service not provided. Let's say a kind of do-it-yourself holiday home, poor attention to the customer, a pity.

Mi spiace apprendere solo ora del suo disappunto Tiziana, specialmente riferito a cose che sapevate benissimo prima ancora di prenotare, poiché scritte nel sito e ribadite nei messaggi. La colazione self service e la pulizia delle stanze al cambio ospiti e ogni 3 giorni (o su richiesta, bastava chiedere) lasciano agli ospiti la libertà di vivere il soggiorno come fossero a casa loro. I prodotti sono quelli utilizzati da ogni struttura della zona, tutti confezionati come richiede la normativa ASL, e le moka vecchie fanno il caffè migliore, dovrebbe saperlo. L’attenzione a cliente è il nostro punto di forza, apprezzato da tutti e confermato dalle innumerevoli ottime recensioni, peccato lei non se ne sia accorta. Eppure vi ho consentito di spostare i letti nella stanza come volevate, di partire all’improvviso un giorno prima del previsto, lasciandomi una stanza invenduta in pieno Agosto, senza farvela pagare per intero come avrebbe fatto qualunque struttura, e non vi ho nemmeno redarguito dopo le lamentele degli altri ospiti per il bambino che urlava per le scale alle 8.00 di mattina ed i forti rumori notturni. Se mi aveste comunicato le vostre esigenze, sicuramente avrei trovato il modo per venirvi incontro quanto possibile. Sarà per la prossima.

The structure is clean, very well maintained and well-kept, surrounded by greenery and close to the river bank where you can swim, if the cold water doesn't scare you! The pool is a plus, upon returning from some trips taking a dip is a must. Marco, the owner, is very helpful and kind, as are his collaborators, they gave us valuable advice on what to visit and where to eat (by the way, you can't miss the La Primula restaurant!). With the B&B there are various facilities and discounts for waterfalls, rafting, and more, it was pleasant to discover this, not everyone does it, indeed! It will be nice to go back with friends.

Mi spiace che la colazione non vi abbia pienamente soddisfatto Nilo. Purtroppo siamo costretti dalle norme asl a fornire solo cibi confezionati, e poichè il 90% degli ospiti preferisce fare colazione autonomamente nel proprio angolo cottura, non abbiamo una sala comune per la colazione e non possiamo ogni giorno entrare nelle stanze a mettere prodotti freschi nel frigo, quindi forniamo i prodotti per la colazione che possano essere usati per qualche giorno senza problemi. Come ha visto abbiamo latte, tè, caffè, cereali, biscotti, dolce o cornetti, fette, marmellate, miele, cioccolata. Forniamo il massimo che possiamo, per rientrare nei costi che abbiamo. Saluti.

Lovely place immersed in nature. The rooms are beautiful, characteristic, cozy, and equipped with everything necessary. Unfortunately, the price is too high compared to what the property offers. In the morning at breakfast, I found two packaged cakes that are sold in the supermarket and some biscuit slices with jam. No milk, no juices, you had to make your own coffee with the traditional moka pot that the property provided. Moreover, the night before, I stored some personal drinks in the property's fridge and in the morning I found them empty. Someone had consumed them during the night.

Mi spiace che non siate stati soddisfatti della colazione Filomena. Purtroppo per la tipologia della nostra struttura ci obbligano ad offrire tutti prodotti confezionati agli ospiti, se avessimo una cucina ed il personale solo per le colazioni le assicuro che il prezzo sarebbe molto più alto, considerato che lavoro 14h al giorno per mantenere in perfetto ordine struttura, piscina e parco, e non avrei il tempo materiale per fare anche le colazioni servite. Comunque come colazione lasciamo a disposizione degli ospiti latte, the, caffè, ciambella o cornetti, cereali, marmellate, cioccolate, miele, fette e biscotti. C'erano minimo litri di latte confezionato a disposizione di ogni stanza sugli scaffali, probabilmente non l'ha visto, se mi avesse chiamato le avrei fatto vedere tutto ciò,che era a disposizione. Riguardo l'episodio del frigo sono desolato sia successo, se me lo avesse detto avrei chiesto spiegazione agli ospiti dell'altra stanza, che spero abbiano consumato le sue cose per sbaglio, e magari le avrei fatto anche un piccolo sconto sul prezzo. Purtroppo non posso rispondere dei danni e del comportamento di altri ospiti. Spero che episodi così non si verifichino più, e spero di avervi ancora ospiti presto. Saluti.

Magical location, nestled in the heart of Valnerina, cradled by lush nature and adjacent to the magnificent Nera River, which near the B&B originates an enchanting natural pool of uncontaminated water. Also characteristic and suggestive are the numerous inlets and caves in the limestone rock, which sometimes form real galleries populated by the characteristic cave crickets. A place with very distant origins and steeped in history. Extremely kind and helpful host, rooms really clean and well equipped with everything needed for the stay. An oasis of peace immersed in the green of nature. We returned to this place, where we had already been about 6 years before, with the certainty of finding comfort and hospitality and our expectations were not disappointed. The place is only a 5-minute drive from the Marmore waterfalls and in an area served by restaurants. Great for families with children.

I spent two months of complete peace and relaxation in this piece of paradise on earth. Although I was there for work and in the company of my colleagues, the stay was really pleasant, the place is enchanting, and Marco, our host, is a great person. Even though we caused him many problems and broke many things, he was always kind (and patient). Nothing was missing in terms of service: clean apartments, furnishings and furniture in good order, air conditioning, washing machine, oven, fridge, hairdryer, TV, barbecue, etc. The exterior is served by a large garden, which on one side slopes towards the river that passes right next to the property and on the other towards the forest (really nice for a walk after lunch) that dots the entire valley. The ground floor apartments all have dedicated tables and chairs outside, a large swimming pool, and many sun loungers to enjoy the sun. In particular, the pool water is the only blue thing you will find in the valley, because looking elsewhere you will only see green, green everywhere, among grass, trees, and mountains. A sea of green, dotted with fragrant flowers and herbs in a silent and peaceful valley. Returning to Marco, the owner, he is a splendid person who will be able to show you all the valid itineraries in Terni and its province for a complete and priceless stay. Very discreet in his work as well as present when needed. You will feel comfortable with him, and if I have not been clear, I tell you openly: go to "La Porta della Valnerina" to spend the best days that an experience in Terni can guarantee.

Caro Isaia, mi spiace molto leggere questa sua recensione irrealistica ed ingiusta nei confronti di chi, da 14 anni, mette il massimo impegno in questa attività per soddisfare in ogni modo i propri ospiti. Come risposta basterebbe citare il nostro secondo posto tra i B&B di Terni su TripAdvisor, ed i numerosissimi certificati di eccellenza ottenuti in questi anni, anche su questo sito. Comunque le rispondo nel merito. Riguardo il “freddo e umido” mi sembra molto strano dato che ad Ottobre avevamo da poco chiuso la piscina, faceva caldo e si prendeva il sole in giardino; forse la differenza di temperatura con l’interno le ha dato questa sensazione ma bastava chiedere e le avrei anche acceso il riscaldamento. Trovare qualche insetto può capitare, avete scelto un B&B in campagna e non in centro città, e sulla strada sterrata ci vanno i bambini in bicicletta, non è poi così pericolosa. Riguardo il rumore, di solito gli ospiti restano colpiti da quello del fiume più che da qualche leggero ronzio che si percepisce all'aperto soprattutto nel silenzio della notte. Ed infine, circa la colazione, ci viene imposto di lasciare cibo confezionato, e non fatto in casa, se è a quello che si riferisce. Latte, ciambellone, fette, cereali, marmellate, miele, nutella, tè, caffè e biscotti, di solito sono sufficienti per tutti. Per la nostra fascia di prezzo diamo un servizio generale anche al di sopra della media, per avere di più ci sono ottimi hotel 5 stelle in città dove soggiornare, a prezzi ben diversi. Saluti.

The property is located in an area between the city of Terni and the entrance to Valnerina. Well maintained, however, it has a somewhat unfortunate position, next to a busy road. The garden is dominated by a high electricity pylon. The owner is very kind. The room we stayed in was very clean. The breakfast, for which they had ingredients, was however inadequate.

Salve Giovanni, in realtà è proprio la nostra posizione a determinare il fascino di questa struttura, sita all'inizio della Valnerina, che per sua definizione è una valle profonda e selvaggia scavata dal fiume Nera, piena di vegetazione e percorsa dalle acque spumeggianti del fiume. Per quasi tutti è affascinante dormire accanto al fiume, mi spiace che lei non abbia subito troppo il fascino di questa zona. La strada dall'altra parte del fiume è la SS 209 Valnerina che porta i turisti alla cascata, se non ci fosse non ci saremmo nemmeno noi, ed è comodo averla così vicino. Il traliccio purtroppo è arrivato negli anni '60 e non posso fare niente per eliminarlo. Può dare fastidio visivamente al primo impatto, ma le assicuro che dopo poco non ci si fa più caso perchè la vista viene rapita dalla natura che ci circonda, dal parco e dal fiume. Mi fa piacere che abbiate apprezzato il mio impegno per la cura della casa e degli ospiti. Infine riguardo la colazione, purtroppo ci viene imposto dall'ASL di lasciare solo prodotti confezionati, e avendo noi dei miniappartamenti preferiamo lasciare il necessario agli ospiti affinchè la preparino da soli alle ore e nei modi che preferiscono, piuttosto che fare un buffet comune, magari più ricco, ma che lasci molta meno libertà a voi. Spero di riavervi qui presto, e che come seconda volta possiate godervi maggiormente quello che questa zona offre. Saluti

Overall we had a good experience, the owner is a very friendly person, if I have to find faults they are the high voltage power pylons and the breakfast (if it can be called that) which is absolutely terrible.

We stayed at this property for a week in August with two families and had a great time. The property is very beautiful with a charming garden and adjacent pool, located in a strategic location for all the tourist attractions in the area and for the nearby towns and villages. Fabulous structure and well-kept apartment. The breakfast is a bit poor, only snacks and crackers, tea or coffee. It could be improved by adding some milk cartons, juice, and fresh fruit. Country road to reach the structure. Otherwise, rating 10 everything is excellent.

Riguardo la colazione putrtoppo c'è stata sicuramente una svista nella preparazione delle camere, perché almeno un litro e mezzo di latte viene sempre lasciato in ogni angolo cottura. La colazione di base comprende latte, caffè, the, dolce o cornetti, fette biscottate, marmellate, cioccolata, miele, zucchero. Lasciando il necessario per prepararla nelle camere ad ogni ospite, abbiamo difficoltà a mettere elementi non conservati, come frutta fresca ecc. Ma raccomando sempre a tutti gli ospiti di chiedere, chiedere e chiedere per qualunque cosa abbiano bisogno. Da parte mia cerco sempre di soddisfare ogni esigenza. Un saluto, a presto. Marco.

The B&B is nice and very functional. Fantastic location, two minutes from Terni (and therefore shops, bank, etc.) and at the same time in the open countryside in a true oasis of peace. Each apartment is very nice, with all the essential amenities for cooking and certainly not lacking in privacy and confidentiality. The pool, park, and all the equipment available for customers are excellent. Ideal for spending a few days of relaxation in complete freedom. The owner is very helpful and courteous and personally takes care of every detail. Highly recommended!

The structure is very new and well maintained. There is also a not huge but well made swimming pool! We stayed in a studio (the "Viola") which is very nice and clean. The kitchenette is fully equipped with everything necessary, so you can organize yourself to cook in complete autonomy. The manager is a very kind and helpful person who is doing his best to make his B&B more and more welcoming and detailed! We feel like recommending the place and if we pass through Terni again, we will definitely return!
