We loved our stay at Agriturismo Villa Palagetto. Our room was very charming and unique and maintained the historical characteristics of the building! It was very comfortable! The views were beautiful and it is so worth getting up early to watch the sun rise over the valley! Its location was perfect for short day trips and exploring the gorgeous Tuscan countryside.

The location of Agriturismo Villa Palagetto is astonishing and so is our room (La Limonaia) with a fantastic view. The restaurant had a good selection of traditional Tuscan dishes and the staff was very helpful and kind. 10 minutes walk from the entrance of San Gimignano. Just a couple of pieces of advice (no criticism or complaints): 1) the breakfast is abundant and mainly with local, fresh products that should be displayed covered/protected from any potential flies; 2) bring some mosquito repellent because they leave nasty bites. Overall an amazing experience and we are definitely going back.

What a beautiful enchanting site. Its location is picturesque and just a stone's throw from San Gimignano. Smiling staff, cozy comfort. A memorable memory. I recommend without hesitation. One small detail, the pillows are a bit thin so please put 4 per room. Thank you for the tasting and vineyard tour.

Beautiful houses (there are several) with breathtaking views and excellent location (also in terms of proximity to the beautiful old village).\n\nWe had a view of the hills with vineyards and olive trees! Pure Tuscany!\nThe room was spacious, very clean, with a spacious bathroom and equipped with everything you could wish for. The bed was impeccable and very comfortable.\n\nThe multilingual staff is extremely competent in all respects (before and during the stay - in our case Deanna and Silvia -) and extremely friendly.\n\nFurthermore, we recommend booking the offered dinner (3 or 4-course menu with wine). Price/quality ratio is appropriate. In the wonderful evening atmosphere in the garden amidst the cypresses, we were spoiled with food and wine. However, be careful: do not eat several hours beforehand to enjoy the 5 courses.. it's served generously. A praise to the chef and the waiter.. everything top notch!\nWe did not use the pool due to lack of time, but it looked very inviting. Worth mentioning is the delicious breakfast with, among other things, wonderful homemade cakes and local cheeses and salami!\nWe will definitely come back. Thanks to everyone for the welcome.

Perfect setting is Tuscany at its most perfect version, even though I look for a flaw I can't find one and I tend to be critical. Clean and proper and comfortable rooms. Perfect pool and restaurant, good local wines, and attentive, super helpful and friendly staff, among the best you can find, nothing to say that would prevent me from returning to this beautiful place in Tuscany.

Wonderful farmhouse in the Tuscan hills, just a few minutes from San Gimignano. Our room (limonaia) was spacious and equipped with a loft, with a large double bed and a relaxation area. The furniture and linens are of good quality. Outside there is a spacious terrace overlooking the pool. Everything is surrounded by gardens and vineyards. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, with typical products and well presented. For breakfast there was a wide choice of homemade cakes, fresh bread, jams, fresh yogurt, and spoon desserts. The managers and staff are all very kind and helpful. The company produces wine and you can buy wine and oil directly from them. Definitely a stay that is worth even more than the price we paid!

Agriturismo Niccolai, with its ancient farmhouses Villa Palagetto and Villa Arnilù, is located not far from the historical centre of San Gimignano, in the heart of the Tuscan hilly countryside.

San Gimignano is a medieval centre of relevant historical interest. The town boasts Etruscan origins and developed in medieval times since it was on the ancient Via Francigena, an important road followed by hundreds of pilgrims and merchants. Fragments of the original walls along the via Francigena are still viewable nowadays. San Gimignano is registered in the list of Unesco’s World Heritage, and it is famous all over the world for its towers, (of the original 72 towers, only 14 remains), and for its important architectural monuments, in particular the fine Romanic Duomo. Besides its artistic treasures, the town is also famous for Vernaccia and Chianti, among the most renewed wines in Italy, which are produced in the area since the thirteenth century.

From San Gimignano, a visit to the most prized jewels of Tuscany is a lovely day trip out. The medieval towns of Siena (35Km away), Colle di Val D’Elsa (10Km), Monteriggioni (20Km), and Montalcino (90Km) are within easy driving distance, as is the Etruscan town of Volterra, 25Km away, Florence, the Cradle of Renaissance (45km), and Pisa (90Km) with its famous Piazza dei Miracoli. The region offers many attractions for those who want to enjoy the spectacular Tuscan landscape:

The region of Chianti Classico is just 30Km away, and the ancient hilltop towns of Castellina in Chianti, Radda in Chianti, Gaiole in Chianti, and Greve in Chianti are a joy to explore;

The region of Crete Senesi, with its distintive moon-like landscape, is 40Km away. This area is also scattered with wonderful abbeys, such as Abbazia di Monte Oliveto Maggiore.

And if a day by the sea entices you, the lovely Tuscan coast is only 50 minutes drive away (80km).

For those who love walking, the area of San Gimignano offers unforgettable walks throughout the hills, across the vineyards, the olive groves, and the woodland, to breathe the atmosphere of this natural paradise along the well-marked footpaths of the CAI network.
