I Tetti di Siciliando

In historic Modica, just a few steps from the majestic Cathedral of San Giorgio, stands I Tetti di Siciliando, a splendid establishment that embodies the charm of Sicilian architecture. Recently renovated, this house, which once hosted noble celebrations, still preserves the decorations and flooring typical of the era. The room dedicated to reading and relaxation is particularly evocative, with its hand-painted Caltagirone ceramic flooring that impresses with its beauty.

The spacious living area opens onto a panoramic balcony, a privileged place where guests can enjoy breathtaking views of one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. The courtyard, with its enveloping scent of jasmine, welcomes guests in a context of tranquility and serenity, promising a regenerating and pleasant stay.

The rooms, simple yet cozy, have been curated by local artists who infused their creativity and love for the Sicilian land into their spaces. Nine rooms, spread over different levels, offer brightness and a charming view of the picturesque rooftops of Modica. The colors of the Mediterranean dominate these rooms, where the beauty of bougainvillea, jasmine, fish, and shells harmoniously blends with the atmosphere of the house.

The story of I Tetti di Siciliando began in 1998 when some enterprising young people decided to revive an abandoned noble house, thus creating the first extra-hotel accommodation facility in the city. Graziana, co-manager, Rosellina, founder, Carmela, maid, and Thomas, Rosellina's husband who handles marketing, form a close-knit team, driven by a passion for hospitality and the desire to share the richness of the area with visitors.

Located in the heart of the historic center, the establishment is conveniently close to the bus station and one of the main access roads to the city. Guests can easily reach the Church of San Pietro and take beautiful scenic walks toward Modica Alta, admiring the wonderful local baroque architecture. Once at Pizzo Belvedere, a breathtaking panorama of the city opens up before descending into the charming alleys of Modica Bassa, a place rich in chocolate shops, bars, restaurants, and trattorias, where one can savor the delights of local cuisine and immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the city.
