La struttura
The farmhouse, built in the 1700s on the Murgia (hill), which overlooks the town of Presicce, is composed of a central "L" shaped building where the owners live, and where 6 spacious rooms were derived from old stables. The ceilings are all vaulted and the walls are quite thick, in order to ensure coolness in the summer and warmth in the winter. The rooms, equipped with every comfort (TV, refrigerator, air conditioning, bathroom with shower, hairdryer), are furnished with simplicity, without neglecting our taste for craftsman wood furniture, a carpet knotted by hand or a canvass; silence and relaxation are guaranteed in these rooms (king-size bed with an orthopaedic mattress). Each room has a private entrance and outside covered patio, equipped with table and chairs, from which you can enjoy a beautiful, panoramic view.

The area is always pleasantly ventilated (which also limits the mosquito population in the summer).

In front of the main building of the farmhouse, in a panoramic position at the top of the slope, is the swimming pool (about 100mq), equipped with beds, tables and chairs: a small gazebo offers shelter when the sun is too strong; those who love the shade can take refuge in the relaxing oasis in the woods, among live oaks and carob trees. From the main building of the farm, descending the short slope among the Indian figs, agaves and shrub bushes, you will reach the stables and the paddock, alongside a building originally used to manufacture tobacco building in which a one room and two apartments with two bedrooms (LODGES) have been derived.

The lodges are furnished in the same style of the farm-house and have a complete equipped cooking area, an external equipped veranda and a stone built barbecue.

Finally, at the edge of the forest, an ancient building (probably dating back to the fourteenth century) above the underground oil mill, dug into the rock by hand, witnessed the production and processing of olive oil.

We had a very pleasant time as a group of 4, with 2 teenagers, in Presicce. We were perfectly welcomed by Bartolomeo and his wife, both of whom speak French...phew! We enjoyed a charming, very clean facility with a superb infinity pool. The owner guided us very well for the visit of the places and restaurants. True tourism professionals. The location is ideal for relaxing and walking by the sea, as it is located 15 minutes from one side of the Ionian Sea and its beaches, and 15 minutes from the Adriatic Sea for diving. Conclusion: GREAT and it was hard to leave the place.

We spent 5 days relaxing in this charming place. Perfect location to visit the surrounding sites, small villages, and the coast. An ideal pool, personalized welcome by Maria and Bartolomeo. The room is very clean and the breakfast with local and homemade products. A plus with the homemade olive oil which is delicious! to bring back in your suitcase.

The farmhouse is very beautiful. We stayed in the Levante apartment, which delighted us both because of the interiors, with a kitchen equipped with everything necessary, and above all because of the outdoor area with a beautiful large garden, a shared barbecue and a wonderful pool. Staying at the Antica Masseria Pescu means relaxation, peace, and beauty. The apartment at our disposal was well equipped with everything, very spacious, and beautiful. Bartolomeo and his family know how to welcome you warmly and are always (with discretion) available to give you useful advice and exchange a few words. The structure is located in a very quiet area, in the countryside but still convenient to reach the beautiful Ionian beaches as well as the most renowned locations (Gallipoli, Lecce). A special thanks to Niccolò and Laila who acted as "guides" and companions to our children.

The Masseria Pescu gave us the opportunity to spend a wonderful stay in an ancient Apulian Masseria from the 16th century, where the tuff, the stone, the vaulted ceilings, and the white lime tell the story and traditions of these beautiful places. The welcome of the owners and the kindness of their collaborators is unparalleled. In the morning, we were awaited with genuine breakfasts rich in local delicacies, while in the evening, upon returning from the beaches, we relaxed by the pool observing the colors of the last rays projected by the sun at sunset. The location, at the tip of the heel, is excellent for visiting the Lower Salento, reaching its stunning coasts, the marine caves, the beaches, and the characteristic villages of the region in a few minutes. In summary, it was a beautiful experience that I highly recommend to those who want to spend a moment of relaxation and get to know the most genuine Salento.

Maria Rosaria and Bartolomeo welcomed us to their masseria with grace and kindness.\n\nUpon arrival, we were delighted to find that the property matched the photographic description: the beautiful pool, in particular, was as large as it appears in the photos.\n\nThe rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished.\n\nSilence reigns supreme, and the atmosphere is just like that of ancient farmhouses immersed in greenery where you only hear the song of cicadas.\n\nIn short, we loved it very much. Furthermore, I must add that breakfast is more of a brunch: rich in good homemade sweet and savory items. I really have no negative comments to make to both the friendly hosts and the property, which is strategically located in a point that allows easy access to both the coast and the inland. I recommend it to everyone.

Assuming that I work in a hotel and that my eye is used to seeing and improving what's wrong, there's nothing wrong here. The place is stunning, two minutes from the beautiful historic center of Presicce yet immersed in an unreal silence. The rooms are large and super clean, comfortable, fresh, and quiet. The common areas and the stunning pool are meticulously maintained and the breakfast is always rich in local products and homemade sweets. But all this is possible only thanks to Bartolomeo and Maria Rosaria. They do not manage the masseria, they provide hospitality! Bartolo (my little one called him that) will recommend beaches, places to see, and excellent restaurants to try, and Maria Rosaria will let you try her juices, jams, and homemade sweets every morning. They are always ready to exchange a few words and give a smile. My three-year-old boy became friends with their two children and every moment we were at the masseria, he practically wanted to be inside their house. It was just me worrying, they (along with the grandmothers and the very sweet Teresa) welcomed him as if he were their own son. I could write a thousand more things, but my advice is to go there and try everything in person. Oh, and don't forget that you are in a strategic location to visit many wonderful places in Salento in a few minutes.

What can I say, we are Romans from Rome and we are very demanding when it comes to holidays and money, and we must say that this place has fully satisfied both needs, the meticulous and hard work of Bartolomeo, Maria Rosaria together with the staff Teresa and friends, made us experience a week out of the ordinary in Italy. A beautiful place, the farmhouse with a pool, fresh breeze in the midst of scorching heat and we swear we never used the air conditioning at night, very clean rooms, very unique and incredibly spacious for a very reasonable price. The breakfast! It's a lunch! Very rich in delicious homemade things and the staff always ready for any need that naturally falls within their possibilities. Mr. Bartolomeo always available, a true guide of Salento and a person with a big heart, hard to find in a manager. Presicce is a very nice village that belongs to an important part of Italy's history not to be missed, not to mention Salento itself, another world. The sea, reachable in a short time, is stunning, fantastic and clean colors! I would say that this farmhouse is strategically located because it is in a ventilated, quiet, peaceful, welcoming place full of humanity! Finally, a young family that works hard with respect, warmth, joy, care aiming for the full satisfaction of the customer! 15 minutes (by car) from the sea, the Antica Masseria Pescu is a place of great peace and serenity, always cool in the evening thanks to a constant breeze coming from the nearby woods (owned). Beautiful pool, spacious villas, fresh and very clean. The ideal location for those who want to discover the many wonders of Salento, from the meeting of the two seas in S. Maria di Leuca to the Zinzulusa Caves in Castro, continuing with the beautiful white beaches of the Ionian coast. All this "seasoned" by the friendliness, availability, and good advice of the managers Bartolomeo and Rosaria and their two beautiful children.

We arrived at this property confident of having a great vacation. In reality, the welcome we received from Bartolomeo and Rosaria went well beyond our expectations, after a few minutes we felt at home, surrounded by joyful and friendly people. This B&B has the right characteristics to offer tranquillity and relaxation in a very well-kept environment, elegant and very spacious rooms, and a stunning pool. Excellent location of Antica Masseria Pescu compared to the various seaside resorts. The well-restored structure is located on a small hill from which you can enjoy a panorama that ranges from endless olive groves. In the evening by the poolside, we were able to admire and enjoy the sunset in tranquility. The spacious room, equipped with a large bed and complete with all the comforts. Impeccable services overall but especially in cleaning and breakfast (so dear to us), but what made us feel so 'carefree' and very relaxed was the cordiality shown spontaneously by the young managers Bartolomeo and Maria Rosaria with their splendid children. Highly recommended!

This year we returned to Antica Masseria Pescu because the courtesy and friendliness of Maria Rosaria and Bartolomeo make the difference. You feel like family, but their presence is very discreet. The farmhouse is well-kept and well-maintained, with excellent cleanliness of the rooms and common areas. Located in a quiet place but convenient to the center of Presicce and a few kilometers from beautiful beaches. The pool is lovely, breakfast excellent and abundant, and if you feel something might be missing, just ask and you shall receive. Highly recommended.

This year, as for the last seven, we stayed at the Antica Masseria Pescu in Presicce. It is evident that we feel very good if we have returned eight times, but this year there is a novelty: Giuliana and Fernando have entrusted the management of the Antica Masseria Pescu to excellent hands, those of Bartolomeo and Maria Rosaria, two wonderful, kind, welcoming, professional people attentive to the needs of all guests! They made changes to the breakfast area making it more shaded and welcoming, not to mention the breakfast they expanded according to the Salento tradition with mozzarellas, stracciatella, fresh and aged cheeses, seasoned tomatoes, seasoned olives, eggplants in oil, cold cuts on request, and cakes made by Maria Rosaria, as well as croissants, pasticciotti, jams, nutella, cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, bread, friselline, various types of biscuits, eggs... in short, it's hard to eat everything! Furthermore, the Antica Masseria Pescu retains its magic intact and the surroundings, the sea, the small villages, the restaurants, are always a source of delights for the body and spirit! The cleanliness of the rooms is always excellent, the beds are large, the bathrooms are spacious and the delightful and clean infinity pool, with a shaded area equipped with huge umbrellas. Entering the Antica Masseria Pescu is like stepping into an oasis of peace and tranquility, leaving everything else behind, dazzled by the sun and then finding freshness and shade in the beautiful rooms with star or barrel vaults, in local stone... highly recommended! Great location, beautiful pool, abundant and varied breakfast. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and very characteristic. What can I say: everything perfect. I highly recommend, to those who have the opportunity, to avoid the month of August, not so much for the crowding in Antica Masseria Pescu since the rooms are not many (fortunately!) but to fully enjoy the Salento, as in August it is almost unlivable.

Passing through the woods of the farm, among the shrub plants, in addition to the underground oil mill, you can see the old quarry from which tuff was extracted for use in construction.

In the building and its immediate vicinity, also available to guests: bicycles, tennis courts, a football field, bocce court and diving centre. There is the possibility of horseback riding, sailboat and motorboat rental, and excursions to the semi-submersed caves.

In a very short amount of time, you can reach important tourist attractions from the farmhouse such as: Lecce (the Florence of the South) at 60 km; Otranto (the Gate to the Orient) at 30 km; Gallipoli (the beautiful city) a 30 km; Leuca (the white city) at 12 km.

Salento, with its crystalline sea (200km of sandy, jagged coastline) and 100 towns, offers history, art, tradition and hospitality. For those who want to know or learn these aspects, the structure offers 10 itineraries to choose from: archaeological, focusing on the traces of Messapian civilization and the megalithism of Salento; naturalist, with cycling paths, excursions on horseback or on foot among the olive trees; enogastronomic, with tasting events for wine, oil and typical food products; artisan, along the streets of ceramics, Lecce stone and iron, or visiting the historical centres for cartapesta (paper mache), handcrafted weaving, and "fisculari" (interwoven rope panels); cultural-artistic, with the medieval and baroque architecture of Lecce; rural, discovering the farm culture and typical rural architecture in dry stone; folkloric, with its markets, village festivals, religious and pagan celebrations, and overwhelming popular music; olive oil, with the underground mills of the Basilium's monks; coastal, with the cliffs, caves and warning towers; thermal bath, with a visit to the thermal baths of S. Cesarea and finally, the speleological itinerary, with the caves, vertical caves and underground rivers.
These are just some of the suggestions we propose in order to understand and appreciate the most authentic Salento, in its spontaneity and contradictions, a true island in the peninsula.
