Il Casale dei Gelsomini, a fascinating example of a Sicilian masseria dating back to 1863, is nestled in a picturesque carob grove, home to prized Modicana breed cattle. Located on a hill just 2.5 km from the historic center of Scicli and a short distance from Modica, the farmhouse represents an ideal refuge for exploring the baroque architecture of Val di Noto, a UNESCO heritage site.

The apartments, derived from the skillful renovation of ancient barns and laborers' houses, overlook a large courtyard of about 600 square meters. These well-designed spaces offer comfort and intimacy, allowing guests to fully enjoy an authentic atmosphere. Among the apartments, Kamarina accommodates up to three people with two private bathrooms, Vendicari provides space for four in elegant double rooms, and Ibla, with its well-furnished rooms and private terrace, completes an offer designed for relaxation and conviviality.

An enchanting farmhouse a few minutes from Scicli. In the silence of the countryside, the only thing that can be heard is nature. You don't need Wi‑Fi; you should enjoy moments of peace and intimacy that this place provides. A place straight out of One Thousand and One Nights. You will understand the reason for the name as soon as you step across the threshold, even more so by the scent. A special thanks to Rodolfo and Gianna, delightful people like the biscuits they offered us.

We spent a dream week at Il Casale dei Gelsomini, a wonderful structure in the countryside, 10 minutes from Scicli, towards the sea. The apartments are very comfortable, spacious, equipped with all the conveniences, and the scenery is spectacular! Priceless dining in the shade of a stone Casale, in total silence, among caper plants, just back from the sea. The owner, Rodolfo, is always available for any need and offers outstanding hospitality. He pampered us, recommending beaches, restaurants, and must-see places in the surroundings. The city has nothing to envy to the most popular destinations of Sicilian baroque and is nestled among majestic cliffs. We returned with the desire to come back next year and I think it will be so!

I gave my best in everything because Il Casale dei Gelsomini gives you the best, for a family vacation. The place is beautiful, meticulously maintained, even in the details. The discreet presence of the host is fantastic. Whatever you ask, he explains everything to you in detail, you feel accompanied in a land you don't know. We spent time by the sea and visited many beautiful nearby cities. There were three of us, two adults and a 9-year-old girl, but when we returned to the apartment, it felt like coming home. A paradise! Away from everything and everyone... in August these areas are overcrowded with tourists like us, in a crazy way, so having a corner away from everything and everyone was an added value for this extraordinary vacation. Thank you very much!

Il Casale dei Gelsomini is a magical place, where to find the peace and tranquility now lost in everyday life. You find yourself in the countryside immersed in its quietness but just a few minutes from the beautiful beach of Sampieri from Scicli and Modica. The Casale is well kept and our residence spacious, clean and with every comfort. Kitchen with everything you need, indoor and outdoor table, bathroom on the ground floor and on the first floor, beach equipment etc etc. And then the cherry on top, Mr. Rodolfo, a splendid host, present but never intrusive. Don't be shy, ask him any information he will know where to eat well, park your car, swim at the beach and will have any other tips for you. We just left but we already want to come back for a longer period.

Truly beautiful structure with fantastic silence, only sounds of nature. Dr. Rodolfo, a super exquisite person, welcomed us with a unique sympathy and some sweets, very polite, helpful, and discreet. The nature surrounding us had a particular charm. Ancient farmhouse renovated with style and taste, functional in every aspect, excellent cleanliness. The property is located in the Sicilian countryside, in a context that was new and surprising for us. The complete isolation from any artificial noise contributes to the relaxation one seeks during a vacation. The entrance courtyard and the structure are well maintained. The owner is extremely kind and also provides very useful advice. The nearby town of Scicli does not suffer from any of the problems found in other Sicilian locations, such as building abuses, urban disorder, traffic chaos. In fact, it is very beautiful, orderly, rich in baroque buildings of great value, with an important history, including poverty and exploitation, which capable guides can tell well. It is truly worth visiting.

I spent some days with my partner in this pleasant farmhouse immersed in the countryside and peace. The evening is beautiful because you can enjoy the silence and the starry sky. The inner courtyard is very spacious and livable. The owner is a lovely person, always available and friendly, generous and welcoming, with many attentions towards the guests. As for the interior of the apartments, they are very beautiful and newly made, maintaining their authenticity. Highly recommended, we will come back!

Perfect place for families looking for the relaxation of a recently renovated farmhouse just outside the center of Scicli, very convenient to the sea. Always available for cuddles and advice from Rodolfo who, like a grandfather, entertains adults and children. We will be back.

Wonderful experience. The rooms are located in an ancient 'baglio', tastefully renovated with attention to functionality, immersed in the beautiful countryside of Ragusa. Mr. Rodolfo was a courteous, caring, and never intrusive host. He welcomed us, as it was already lunchtime, by offering us typical local pastries. The little apartment is also full of small "treats" that really made us feel at home. The epitome of Sicilian hospitality. Absolutely recommended. I hope to be able to return next year.

I also chose Il Casale dei Gelsomini for my vacation from 07th to 17th August 2019, and I absolutely confirm what other guests have already expressed. The structure is beautiful, in the countryside yet convenient to the center of Scicli (which is stunning!) and to several fantastic beaches, with Sampieri being the best! A special thanks to the owner, Mr. Rodolfo, and his wife for the availability and kindness shown, attentive and always ready to provide any information and/or advice to make our stay comfortable. Unfortunately, like all beautiful things, it ends too soon. I will cherish this place in my heart, maybe we will see each other again next summer! A big hug.

Fantastic place immersed in nature, quiet and welcoming, a short walk from the sea and the most famous Sicilian villages. The structure is very well maintained and recently renovated with modern furnishings. Impeccable cleanliness, linens changed punctually and fresh fruit offered by the spectacular host Rodolfo and his wife Gianna, very kind and very helpful! Despite not having air conditioning, we slept very well because it was breezy in the evening (especially considering the scorching days of August). Upon arrival in the apartment, we already found oil, vinegar, salt, coffee, milk, and some cold drinks. Additionally, a hairdryer, iron, and even a beach umbrella were available! We really enjoyed our stay! Highly recommended.

We spent a lovely week discovering the Sicilian Baroque and were very satisfied with the hospitality and the location of 'Il Casale dei Gelsomini'. A fairly isolated place, in contact with nature and animals, but close to the major centers of interest of the Sicilian Baroque and not far from beautiful beaches. Great courtesy and availability of the owner, who made us feel at home.

We have just returned from a week-long holiday at Il Casale dei Gelsomini and we already miss it! Immersed in the beautiful Scicli countryside, this recently renovated baglio with care while maintaining an authentic atmosphere, has given us beautiful moments thanks to the unique kindness of the owners who pampered us by letting us taste local delicacies and advising us on places to visit and things to do, always with great availability and discretion. We felt pleasantly at ease and enjoyed beautiful evenings with starry skies, silence, and the scent of flowers. As Pietro (12 years old) says: "The atmosphere was just like the countryside, in the evening there was a fantastic breeze and you could see many constellations. I used to eat outdoors both in the evening and, when I happened to stay, at lunchtime". The two-story house we stayed in is ideal for a family of 3 people, well furnished and equipped with everything. Scicli can be reached in a few minutes and is a true baroque gem, very active in summer with events almost every evening (parade of Sicilian carts, floral display, concerts...). Sampieri, our favorite beach, is a fifteen-minute drive from the baglio: dunes, pine forest, transparent sea, and the spectacular Penna kiln in the background (Montalbano's Mànnara). Needless to say, we would happily return!

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Il Casale dei Gelsomini to discover Scicli and its territory. We fell in love with it! The structure is beautiful, expertly renovated, equipped with all the comforts! Excellent location just outside Scicli (3 minutes by car), ideal for touring but also for enjoying the holiday in complete relaxation as it is immersed in the countryside. The impact of colors and scents is very strong and magical: the majestic white of the farmhouse perfectly matches the green of nature. Something that tastes of ancient and good, on which the added value of the farmhouse fits perfectly: Rodolfo and his wife, the owners! From our arrival, they welcomed us with extreme kindness, taking care of every detail. Every excuse was good to pamper us: they really moved us, making us feel at home, actually part of the family and treating us with sincere affection! It was nice to meet them and experience them! Il Casale dei Gelsomini was a beautiful discovery! I had the pleasure of staying here for a few days, as a wedding gift from a friend, and it was a very pleasant experience. A truly relaxing place, immersed in nature, a little corner of paradise just a stone's throw from the town of Scicli. Easily accessible and in a convenient location to reach the beaches and visit many places in the wonderful Val di Noto! The apartment is very welcoming, comfortable, clean, and elegantly furnished, it almost feels like being at home! We had a great time, especially thanks to the kindness of the owners, who were available for anything. Mr. Rodolfo, an extremely pleasant person, was able to recommend places to visit and excellent restaurants to eat! For us, it was truly a wonderful nest! Highly recommended.
