Nestled in the greenery of the Tuscan hills, the Mons. Enrico Bartoletti Diocesan House is located in a historic 16th-century Renaissance villa, which remains a corner of tranquility just a short distance from Lucca, easily reachable by car or urban bus. This enchanting refuge is a perfect starting point to explore the wonders of Tuscan cities such as Pisa, Viareggio, and Florence, all easily accessible.
Originally conceived in the early 19th century as a summer seminary for the Diocese of Lucca, the villa underwent a significant transformation in the 1970s when Mons. Enrico Bartoletti dedicated it to spirituality and training, creating an environment suitable for retreats, courses, and hospitality for pilgrims and parishes. Today, even after several modernization interventions, the House retains its historical sobriety, enriched by modern comforts that make the stay pleasant and welcoming.
The facility offers 73 beds, divided into single, double, and triple rooms, all equipped with a private bathroom and Wi-Fi connection. In addition, it has meeting rooms, dining facilities, and an internal chapel, thus creating spaces suitable for both convivial moments and personal reflection. The spacious outdoor gardens provide areas dedicated to relaxation and socialization, while the surrounding lawn is ideal for outdoor activities such as soccer.
The Diocesan House is open all year round and run in a family manner, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Nearby there are various services, including a church, bus stops, and dining options, with further amenities such as train stations and supermarkets within a short distance. This place enchants not only with its history and architectural beauty but also with the possibility to experience rich cultural and spiritual experiences in one of the most fascinating regions of Italy.
